As far as I'm concerned this may be another example of how stupid Bungie is. Yes maybe they did finally do what they needed to do with shotgun and auto rifles and the thorn, but at what cost? They have just rendered black hammer 100% useless and that weapon could only truly be exploited in PvE anyway, furthermore that exploit for the most part only works on nightfall bosses. Sure you might be able to score a couple sets on skolas but normally you have to keep ducking into cover and worrying about your poison timer to truly abused the weapon in prison of elders. Not to mention you have to leave yourself completely open to attack, not have any radar, and keep up a perfect tempo without missing in order to use it, therefore rewarding good skill. Then we have the threat of ghorn ending up being sub par too. However I can't say that until I have tested it with the new changes, maybe it will be okay I'm hoping. Furthermore, I was just finally able to find a good pulse rifle that works for me and now they're nerfing pulse rifles back into the dirt, hear me out, you need to be able to kill people with only two very well placed bursts with a pulse rifle because of how the gun was made to function and the fact that it's nearly useless at close range unless your a hip fired expert. Pulse rifles were not meant fight shotguns at close range, they're meant for medium and long range. I see no issue with being able to kill a sniper at medium range if you get first shot at him because you have that pinpoint accuracy you get from only being able to 3 round burst. I'm hoping the head seeker perk still can compensate, but taking 3 or 4 bursts to kill someone with a pulse rifle if you're being reasonably accurate seems stupid to me. Also if I read it correctly it looks like they're nerfing fusion rifles even further into the ground when they already have fallen out of popularity in crucible. Why the hell would you make them even more useless? I may be wrong but it seems like those changes would make them even more unusable. In conclusion, yes some of the base changes were good, and yes some of the exotic changes were also extremely good but I think the cost of a couple different weapons specifically and an entire weapon class possibly being driven further into obscurity shows that they can't make a good decision without screwing something up royally. But only time will tell and I sincerely hope I'm wrong.
