Salty people complained about its power because they dont/didnt have it. Bungie mistook this whining for actual feedback.
Ghorn still was OP nonetheless though, a slight nerf wouldn't be horrible. We just have no idea how much it'll be nerfed now

Let's all start saying the Nighthawk is too OP and see if we can get that nerfed (it doesn't need it obviously) just to prove Bungie is ran by a bunch of money driven morons that have completely lost touch with their fans.
