That was my biggest beef with it. Lense flare (Scope Glint) on iron sights makes Zero sense.
*Edit1 I am aware the patch is not active yet. I'm commenting to the patch notes and that it's not addressed.
*Edit2 Here are the notes:
No Land Beyond
Sworn off by most as a waste of Strange Coins, used as a joke weapon by people who want to stack the odds against their favor, and every now and then it is the tool of destruction that wipes up a Crucible match by a slick, run and gun, sniper elitist faster than you can say “Welcome to my YouTube montage.” We built No Land Beyond for the quick sniping, PvP-minded player. However as many have pointed out since it was released, the weapon does not hold up in PvE.
Changes:
Increase weapon handling speed for faster time to aim, ready, and stow
Adjust sights to fix overlap/parallax issue while aimed
Increase time decay of The Master to 8 seconds
Add an additional 20% Precision Damage bonus while The Master is active

Just goes to show that they wanted a pvp game. They don't focus too much on pve content.
-
I was sniping against someone else using NLB (we both were using it) and I never saw any lens flare on it. I think it has already been fixed.
-
I agree. I always felt that if there was only one change made to the gun. It should be the removal of the red lens glare. I thought the whole point of having a sniper with iron sights was to remove that.
-
5 RepliesThey should have added faster bolt cycling
-
2 RepliesI don't like it either, but I would rather have them address the pitiful reserve ammo. Only time I have ever run out of primary ammo in PVP.
-
10 RepliesWait. I'm a sniper and I don't even know what lense flare is....
-
2 Replies.....NLB is simply the punchline on the joke that has become PvP.
-
1 ReplyI know that the sights shouldn't logically have a glare, yet keeping it is the right thing. Otherwise nlb users would just camp and pick people off to a ridiculous extent.
-
5 RepliesI agree that conceptually lense flare on iron sights makes no sense, but do you realize how ridiculous a sniper without lense flare would be in PvP?
-
8 RepliesNot really on topic, but does Queenbreaker's Bow have flare? I have the gun but obviously can't see if it has the flare or not.
-
2 RepliesEdited by m00ninite: 7/17/2015 3:07:01 PMWhat does this really mean: "Adjust sights to fix overlap/parallax issue while aimed" ?? Are they actually going to change the visuals of the sights so they aren't so awkward and bulky? Or is this just a graphics engine change to remove an optical illusion?
-
Bungie logic for you. The only thing that would of salavage that worrhless pile of crap was hunters sniping with it while invisible.
-
2 RepliesIf you're good, the lens flare is the last thing they'll see. Great. You saw me coming, but aren't quick enough to get away.
-
Really? I never realized that lol. Kinda goofy.
-
4 RepliesEdited by GHOST 9o5: 7/17/2015 2:24:54 PMI'd argue that if you camp, no-one can see you with it, but really, no one uses NLB to sit in the back of First Light. I'd also argue that it'd be unfair in a gunfight, as you don't know what they have, but you can just read their damn name and know the weapon. Eh, whatever. Put it in.
-
Use the lens flare to your advantage. Very nice shotgun bait.
-
1 ReplyWeapon patch hasn't come yet
-
There I just so much metal on the scope that it has lens flare
-
4 RepliesAgreed. Never understood that damn lens flare on NLB. It's like putting a gas tank on a bicycle. (A non-motorized one) There is no lens, no assisted zoom scope. Clunky and cumbersome Iron Damn Sites and a pitiful amount of ammo for a primary. Hell, if the reload animation was a muzzle loader it wouldn't be any worse than it is already. It should be the damn ninja of sniper rifles for all the other handicaps it has.
-
I agree they need to remove the lens flare from it
