Thoughts on Weapon Rebalance?

Really happy with the new weapon tuning!

It's ok, not what I expected.

I doubt there are many among us who would claim that Destiny wasn't due for a weapon rebalance. Auto rifles have become marshmallow shooters while the exotic hand cannons have dominated the playlists as the Kings of Crucible. However, it's hard to claim that this update was not somewhat disappointing. So what's everyone's thoughts on the new weapon tuning? For me, much of the first half of the weapon rebalancing seems to be all good news, though we'll have to see its direct manifestation in the Crucible to determine if these really are well thought out adjustments. Auto rifles needed a buff, pulse rifles could use a few extra rounds, and a couple perks are making shotguns the greatest nuisance of PvP gameplay. Now for my complaints. Final round has become a major concern with its effectiveness, especially on a sniper that only has three rounds in one magazine! However, to restrict it to only working with critical hits means the perk is now only useful in PvE and not by a large margin. The least they could have done is increase the effectiveness of final round to x150% damage or greater for snipers. It was a careless nerf meant only to discourage people from using the perk while they continue to weed out old "overpowered" perks without compromising on their end. The Icebreaker nerf will be an issue of annoyance more than anything else. It's unlikely that the increase charge time will change anyone's gameplay towards what Bungie intends but rather it will make it less common in both Crucible and lower level strikes. I'll also add that the nerf of Gjallarhorn was a long time coming but hopefully nothing significant. It should still be the best PvE choice for a rocket launcher and it should be worth the exotic slot. But of all the things, why Black Hammer?! You turned one of the best perks in the game into something almost useless. This is a PvE gun with a perk that require precision. The obvious issue here is its effectiveness against bosses with large crit points, but this can hardly be seen as game breaking. The shots need to be in rapid succession and they need to be crits. My only solace in all this is that perhaps the reason they are even giving this any notice is because they intend to let us continue to use our year one guns well into year two. My final concern and last thought I'll add is this: Will Bungie continue to make weapons in future DLC weaker than what we got with the Vanilla game? Many of the new perks added in with House of Wolves seem lackluster and are almost there just to troll the player. Replenish ammo when you use your super? Increase accuracy while airborne? Legendary guns should be just that: Legendary. The perks should evolve your gun into something more powerful than the base gun you got. Now the intention is to have us make sacrifices if we want a bonus to a stat? I can understand that field scout renders upgrades to our armor for increase carrying capacity useless, but couldn't they just get more creative with the perks? Armor perks have hardly changes so far. Thats nice that I can melee faster or reload faster with a particular weapon type, but what if I want my armor to increase my agility or allow me to switch between weapons faster? Lowering the standards to increase variety among players is not a good compromise. The future of legendaries in Destiny seems bleak. For now, we wait and see what Bungie has in store for The Taken King.
