Explain to me how it is a bad thing?? It's what this game needed it, 365 Gjallahorn only should not be a thing
Edit: good discussion guys, and to everyone saying I don't understand because I don't have one, well check my heavy weapon on my warlock, and check my grimnoire to see my 2000+ kills with it.

Because it was really the only thing that could counter every boss being a bullet sponge. I don't want to spend 15 minutes shooting Omnigul for the 200th time, I'd rather be done in 5 minutes. I've never once been kicked out of a raid, or excluded someone that didn't have one. I completed everything in the game without one, and the only place I use it is on bosses, like I said before.

2 RepliesBc they had no real reason to nerf jt
-
1 ReplyIt honestly needed it considering how some people would rely on it instead of doing mechanics... looking at you skolas
-
2 RepliesToday I'm becoming a gally elitist just cause of the crybaby douche bags on the forums, no gally? Booted, -blam!- you
-
5 RepliesNow people are going to want only gally owners on their raid fire teams. Now some activities will be a lot harder unless you have 3 or 6 gjallarhorns.

When I first read the patch notes for Gjallarhorn all I thought was "Aww no Ghorn " with the sad menu music for Halo 3 playing in the back & a sign that reads R.I.P Ghorn 2014-2015. What I saw on the forums were children & adults alike complaining & whining about a weapon that was absurdly good lessened a bit. Never change people, you always remind me of how stupid people can be.

I'm one of those few people that is actually Alright with this Nerf, it's just a small damage reduction to wolf pack rounds nothing big. A lot of the weapons I use like scout rifles are getting nerfs and buff they needed, but we have yet to see that.

Edited by WSox 35th: 7/18/2015 12:04:05 AMDestiny might be screwing itself thousands of players keep playing every week just trying to get Gjallarhorn now that they are going to nerf it most players won't have an incentive to play anymore
-
1 ReplyThe nerfs to gally ,icebreaker, blackhammer will just make the grind take longer. Boring..........
-
6 RepliesI hope Gjallerhorn is nerfed into the ground ^-^

When it comes to Raids and Nightfalls, I'm no stranger to pulling out my Ghorn for strong opponents and bosses, however, I will make it clear here that I never demand players to have the Ghorn for a Raid as I know it's not needed at all. However, the nerf will raise more issues than it will resolve, in fact, it will not resolve anything, but rather emphasize the issue it was intended to fix. As Bungie stated in the nerf, the power output of the Gjallarhorn is exactly as they intended, a weapon of absolute mass destruction on opponents in PvE. What they didn't expect to happen was for players to demand others to have the Gjallarhorn to participate in Raids/Nightfalls. As of right now, it takes 2 shots from a 365 Gjallarhorn from a level 34 player to down Crota on Hard Mode. Just 2, just as Bungie intended and stated in their nerf post. That means for a full team of six, only 1 player needs the Gjallarhorn to ensure Crota drops, tops 2 players to drop him instantly rather than wait for second shot to be fired. That means only 1-2 players, if a team is making a requirement, require a Gjallarhorn while the other 4-5 can just use an LMG or whatever they want. After the nerf, the Gjallarhorn will remain as the King of Destruction, but with far less power. That means teams will need more shots per boss, meaning they need more Gjallarhorns. As a result, the demand and requirement for Gjallahorn to join Raids and Nightfalls will vastly increase, not decrease in the slightest. Not only would they have nerfed a weapon that they themselves thought was perfect in power output already, but they worsened the situation they were initially trying to resolve. I'm not saying don't carry out with the nerf, Bungie, I'm asking you to step back and look at the bigger picture. LFG sites will be riddled with Ghorn requirements after update 2.0.0. EDIT: Many players are saying it's deserved. Keep in mind, after the nerf and demand for Ghorn increases for Raids and Nightfalls, Ghorn owners will not be affected by this nerf, since we can get on any Raid or Nightfall since we have it. Non-Ghorn owners are the ones being affected here. I'm making this point for non-Ghorn users, not Ghorn users. I'm trying to make the community less discriminating, to get you into raid teams, but you're all working against players with Ghorns. Are non-Ghorn users that blind that they don't even see that this nerf affects them and not those who own a Ghorn?
3 RepliesBecause the reason for the nerf doesn't address the exclusion they claim it is derived from. It just artificially buffs every boss which is bs. If they wanted to deal with exclusion they would add optional matchmaking. Simple, easy and actually deals directly with the problem.
-
2 RepliesCons: I have to spend even more time in a boring prison for rewards I dont want. Pros: Unlucky people can now get into a boring prison for rewards they dont need...without a Gjallarhorn

It's not. People are jumping off the cliff with all the other lemmings.

13 RepliesIt's a wonderful thing lol. No more easy boss takedowns. Time to go through the mechanics!
-
Just make heavy ammo drop less put the price up on xur then people will be more careful with ammo and it will result in using different guns cuz i pop a synth soon as them rockets been used i switch to ice breaker. :)

5 RepliesIf Bungie had matchmaking then no one would have been left out and no one would have been butt hurt and gally would not be getting touched.
-
12 RepliesIf you had one, you'd understand.

Edited by doomshaman: 7/17/2015 8:18:21 PMGjallarhorn didn't need a nerf, the other rocket launchers needed a buff to bring them closer that's it. Any nerf doesn't accomplish anything, just creates artificial difficulty by prolonging an instance. It's the same thing as raising the HP pool for the mobs creating bullet sponges. That's what lazy game developers do... It's amazing how Bungie pulls it off every time to make it look like they listening to their players in reality they just do what they want and we pay for it. People complain about lag in PvP all the time but Bungie does not even acknowledge it.

5 RepliesYou guys asked for weapon balance. Weapon balance is what we're getting.
-
5 RepliesIt's a rocket launcher. It's supposed to instantly kill you.

9 Replieshow much can i bet that your ass doesnt even have a gjallarhorn. ypu probably gave been kicked out of a game for sucking ass

4 RepliesThe Bungie dev said in the interview that the reason they want to nerf G'horn is because they didn't intend for it to be a disqualifier for people to get invited to group activity. Well, jeez, no brainer, if that's your concern, sell it on Xur like you do every other non-Raid weapon (Raid = Word, Fang, etc.) Selling G'horn periodically would absolutely eradicate Bungie's concern without lobotomizing the unique abilities G'horn brings to content to provide other unique ways to get things done. G'horn is unique, just like Ice Breaker and others are unique. Don't lobotomize dimensions of gameplay when uniqueness can be preserved. Don't turn G'horn into just another Hunger of Crota but with Solar burn. I've spent countless hours both enjoying G'horn use, and in helping friends do the weekly reset content to acquire their G'horns. After months of helping on a weekly basis, two guys I help most had not gotten G'horn yet, until one of the two finally got one this week, to their immense pleasure. All of that work, months, you would destroy by lobotomizing the reward? Instead, you could Xur it, and instead even the guy(s) who have worked for months, would still feel that they did the work, and they finally got one. You guys are really missing the boat.

Because every game I have ever played has had that one ultimate go to weapon and the ghorn was it on here. Not sure why bungie felt that should change
