This is the most Honest statment to be said.
The quicker everybody understand this, the quicker you can understand that now you get to play the game teh way it was intended.

Yup! When you're fighting sepiks for the 300th time, it'll take even longer!
-
I'd watch out when Activision finds out about you and Datto riding Bungies dick. They don't like it when their toys are messed with.
-
6 RepliesGjallarhorn was supposed to be a nuke, people are retarded and ruined it for themselves.
stupid "need max ghorn" posts, I hope you're happy!
3 RepliesCan we please stop with the "play the way the game was intended to be played" nonsense? Bungie created Gjallarhorn because they INTENDED for us to grind for it and yes, to use it the way they INTENDED for us to use it. To melt bosses. The problem with Gjallarhorn is the same with Thorn and some other exotics. People don't pay attention in school and don't know what the word exotic means. Everyone doesn't have one. And some people who don't have one are very jealous. To make matters worse, SOME people who do have one deliberately excluded those who don't. While that is their right, it doesn't make it right. Bungie told you, they didn't nerf Gjallarhorn because PvP players were complaining that it was OP. They did it to punish people for excluding others. Period. It's social engineering in a video game, nothing more. Now the people who wanted 3 Gjallarhorns in a raid team will want 5 or 6. So ultimately I believe the nerf will turn out to be not such a good thing after all.

9 RepliesGhally makes the game too easy and boring. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but every boss fight just turns into shoot rockets, use synth, shoot more rockets, done.....no skill and takes less than a minute and is dull. I get that people want rewards for the shortest amount of time, so I don't blame people for doing it that way, but I'm glad I'll actually have to fight the bosses now, and let's face it this game is nowhere near as grinding as it used to be, so the fast reward isn't really a necessity. Just my opinion, but understand the love for the ghally.
-
Nerfing the Gally will not eliminate elitism in this game. It would promote it because now that the gally is weaker, players would want other players with Gally to compensate damage lost from the nerf.
-
5 RepliesSorry for wanting to bring my most powerful weapon into a boss fight. What was I thinking? Datto can eat a fat, diseased dick. All datto is, is a glorified bungie brown noser with a popular youtube channel (somehow).

1 ReplyGjallarhorn. KILL IT WITH FIRE
-
9 RepliesThe reason why Gjallarhorn is so overused is because it's the most effective tool for like 95% of the bosses in this game. A firefighter doesn't pull out a squirt gun when he has a firehose at his disposal. A police officer doesnt handcuff criminals with a shoelace when he can easily use his handcuffs. A surgeon doesn't use a spoon when he has a scalpel that is a million times more effective. And most people don't pull out a Hezen Vengeance or any other rocket when they have Gjallarhorn because, sadly, all the bosses in this game are the same. There may be side mechanics like Atheon teleporting you or Qodron and the Templar constraining you, but once that's done the next step is to damage the boss and clear out all the ads as quick as you can before the next cycle happens. I can see why spamming Gjallarhorn for everything can be boring, but if you aren't using Gjallarhorn you're just gonna be spamming something else.

1 ReplyNo the nerf wasn't needed. Bungie needs to do a better job at designing new and fun bosses that aren't bullet sponges. Bungie simply wants to nerf the ghallarhorn because it's the standard strategy for any boss. Honestly I'd like to know what they expected. I don't really care about the nerf but Bungie needs to make more interesting fights that are less reliant than "just shoot rockets until dead". I don't care if a boss has a shield that blocks the rocket whilst taking no damage and then disperses the Wolfpack rounds to politely say F U, if it was fun and interesting to play and the boss was tough but not a sponge I'd feel accomplished and we wouldn't have this issue. My opinion on the subject. Bungie is just lazy.
-
3 RepliesWhy do people worship datto like hes a god!? Bungie pays him!
-
I give the man credit. He predicted this would happen months ago.
-
4 RepliesYes, most of my teammates have it on themselves when playing poe or raids but doesn't even use it most of the time insted of other exotics more usefull. I admit gjallarhorn is good for boss but for little minions... That will help people to use more exotic instead of just having a gjallarhorn in their back.
-
I agree completely. I've a few exotics that are just gathering dust because they don't compare to gally
-
Honestly, if this weapon was not so much of a crutch, we wouldn't be having this discussion.
-
Datto said what about all the non bitchy vanilla players said. Sorry to burst your bubble kid, keep the fanboy thing up though. Just cause he has a YouTube channel, doesn't make his statement any different.

You mean hide behind cover and shoot a little longer? All this does is increase the time it takes to do an activity, not make it harder.
-
Thank you, I don't see why people are so pissed at the slight nerf. Just use different weapons if you really want, or just keep using gally it will still be good it just won't be overpowered

Bump!!

10 RepliesEdited by Nizzy 303: 7/21/2015 3:46:17 AMFrom reading the comments on this thread, I'm completely convinced that Gjallarhorn is the crutch by which Tools prop up their PvE prowess. It's one thing to have and use Gjallarhorn, and quite another to require it for any activity. Nothing in Destiny requires even a single player in an event to use Gjallarhorn to put down enough damage. The fact that it takes one Gjallarhorn and 2 rockets to drop Crota's shield says that that weapon is indeed broken. The only answer is to lower it's effectiveness. There are still some of us Beta-Vanilla players who still haven't had Gjallarhorn drop, and it hasn't ruined our gameplay experience yet, except for the douche bags that require Gjallarhorn to participate... So we've just worked around your dumb asses. Gjallarhorn can get pulled from the game completely for all I care.. Because of the toxicity that thing has caused in this community, I don't even care if I ever get one.
If Datto says it, it must be true!
That's all I got from your post..
