So, here's some examples of current new release DLC prices with [i][u]approximate[/u][/i] difference percentages to help illustrate the kinds of prices we pay Downunder: [b]Advanced Warfare season pass[/b] - [i]approx 30% difference[/i] US = $50 Aus = $64 [i]Notice how the U.S. price is more expensive than TTK yet the Aus price is cheaper than TTK[/i] [b]The Witcher 3 season pass[/b] - [i]approx 30% difference[/i] US = $25 Aus = $35 [b]Farcry 4 season pass [/b] - [i]approx 30% difference[/i] US = $30 AUS = $40 [b]Destiny expansion pass [/b] - [i]approx 15% difference[/i] US = $35 AUS = $40 [b]Destiny HoW/tDB DLCs[/b] Individual US = $20 AUS = $25 Season pass US = $35 AUS = $40 [b]The Taken King[/b] - [i]approx 75% difference!!!![/i] US = $40 AUS = $70 [i]Are you actually kidding? I just bought The Witcher 3, a new release game (incidentally with more free DLC than the two paid Destiny DLCs) for $78. And you're trying to charge $70 for TTK!?[/i] As you can see this problem is exclusive to The Taken King. [u]Activision's other games aren't marked up 75%[/u] nor are other company's games, not even the previous Destiny DLCs are this expensive. Also, the contract with Bungie/Activision states they must both discuss and agree on pricing and marketing strategies and only after an escalation process does Activision have a tie breaking vote - just in case you were going to write "[i]Activision sets the prices[/i]" - Bungie are certainly involved in the process. It's got nothing to do with our exchange rate or minimum wage because as I've proven, other games aren't marked up this much.
