The obvious truth is right before your eyes - the Nechrocasm has been rendered obsolete. This is the first of many weapons to pass on. All in an effort to save your vault space. No, no, no thanks are necessary.
No kidding, there is no way this is an accident. Phased. Out.

Ok, so after reading the Weapons portion of the Weekly Update, I have to humbly ask, where do I sign up for your Tin Foil Hat Club.
-
Not sure where you are going with that one. Husk wasn't mentioned, so that's not it. They weren't very definitive about what they were going to be doing about weapons balance, just gave us the same "we're listening" line. Showed us some stats which only proved to me how nerfs have backfired.
-
The post you made further down on this thread about weapons obsolesence is where I was going. The latest update will make many in favor weapons rather bland so it will be easy for them to phase them out and have people embrace the new weapons.
-
Gotcha. It's the way I saw it headed. DeeJ and Luke have been pretty open about that.
-
The necrochasm is directly mentioned in the weekly update. Bigger mag size, exploding perk always occurs when critical kill, and blast radius and damage of perk is increased. Might be more. I forgot
-
Yeah, I must be missing a big hunk of that. I will read it before commenting further.

Dude. I like the way you make your deducted conclusions. I really do. There definitely are methods companies use to achieve results without their consumers knowledge. But, there is also talk about some Reddit user who was doing play testing with BungieVision and they claim the planned updates to weapons that the Necro was "actually pretty good". So I hold onto hope that Autos are brought back to relevancy. Not that it excuses the massive overreach that Bungie performed. With Bungie, it seems to me a mixture of clever subtlety and sheer thermonuclear incompetence. An odd couple.

Edited by ironBill: 7/16/2015 12:21:28 PMI hope you are right. The Nechrocasm was a lot of wasted effort so far. Bungie could fix that if they wish. Edit: I should have added the same goes for all auto rifles. Right now the speed of light can be measured by how fast I delete "Her Right Hand" upon receiving it from a drop or chest.
-
Edited by ChickenHawk110: 7/16/2015 12:51:00 PMFor sure. Her Right Hand is simply not competitive VS previous 27 impact Autos. All, and I mean ALL of the Queens weapons suck. (Her Benevolence is the single exception, and can be reforged into some very competitive PvP rolls) The older weapons are simply more powerful than the newer weapons, I have older Autos that could NEVER be matched with current Autos and the possible perk options. And, the current Vanguard, Crucible and Faction weapons all have better base stats to reroll than all of the Queens and Varicks weapons to reroll into your most desired perks. So, whilst I have some faith that Autos will be relevent again, and weapon balance will be taken more seriously in the future, the older weapons still trump the current weapons. When a Treasure Key drops for me, I think "sweet, another 3 weapon parts and mote for yet another reforge" How this happened? I can only assume thermonuclear incompetence on Bungies part.

Were you wearing your tin foil hat when you made that post?
-
Sure. And were you wearing your fanboy super-underwear when you replied? For the record, I have a pretty good track record for my guesses
-
A very weak attempt at an insult. At the very least you could have called me a Desticle.
-
No, I go my own way.
-
I'm devastated :)
-
Are you saying the Husk of the Pit is not obtainable anymore and they took it out of the game?
-
I am saying the chances were greatly reduced at the very least. Luke Smith and DeeJ are both on the record discussing weapons obsolescence. I used to get husks all the time. I haven't gotten a single husk since HoW. A ninja nerf is easier than telling the community it's gone. ...or have we forgotten how the swords disappeared from the Earth and Moon without warning?
-
This ^^^ although I'm not sure about ninja nerf part I'm 99.99999% sure the drop rate has been lowered to critically nothing. I haven't received a husk since how came out. I had four before then.
