Halo for me, but Destiny has a lot of promise with its different way of thinking, I like that you have what at your disposal, and not everyone has to have the same thing. I like that the weapons and gear you get are random too, so there is non of this competitive favoritism nonsense. I like space magic and the way the powers feel, it treats players equally even if they have not had much experience in shooters, and let's them learn at their own pace. The guns are a lot of fun too.
My favorite Halo for its campaign was Halo 2. It's the most fun to play and generally everyone agrees, plus I was 14 when it came out and there has been a lot of fond memories of me and my friends playing a lot together. It was dumb fun with roots of deep story telling.
Halo 4 was the best one as far as multiplayer, because competitive gaming generally sucks, and it felt like casual players had a chance. It really evolved the idea of how multiplayer should have felt.
People who didn't like it were just upset their "skill" didn't let them dominate a map, and that's how it always should have been, not whomever is best with BR tactics, or any of that straight shot nonsense mentality halo 3 started with BR starts, but relying on your weapons in combo with your armor and its abilities to counter their attack mixed with ordinance to turn the tide. The fact that it's gone now in halo 5 to appeal to more competitive sense has shown that halo is being geared towards the wrong audience again.
