We're now rating players based on Grimoire score...
I remember the days when players rated each other based on skill, their level, if they could work well in a team, which is crucial for raiding, and most, if not all, of their gear.
Now we're rating each other based on Grimoire score.
You've got to be kidding me.
I've been here since the beta. I remember back in vanilla, trying to level up and being stuck at 29... I think it was 28 or 27.
But apparently, because my Grimoire score is low, I'm a complete noob.
Wth people.
[spoiler]and let's not forget being unable to join a team because you don't have maxed out gally, but that's another thing.[/spoiler]
Edit: I took a long break from Destiny, just so you guys know. But not long enough to instantly declare me a noob.
Edit: I'm only using myself as an example. There are plenty of other people out there that are good at this game and have gotten kicked because of a low Grimoire score.
Edit: I stand corrected. Grimoire is used as a means of experience. Time to bring mine up.

5 RepliesTrue that. I've been playing since the first week Destiny was out and I only have about 2980 grimoire. I've competed more than my fair share of hard VoG, hard Crota, and nightfalls. It's sad that a score that doesn't affect the game in anyway besides saying you hunted ghosts or played things you might not have wanted to do( for me I don't really like Crucible or playing as Warlocks and Titans), makes players decide not to play with good players that might not have done that. But I don't let it get me down. I just don't play with people that have a problem with low grimoire, even if I might be better than them at the game.

I seriously don't understand why grimoire is becoming a requirement to get into raids/trials/PoE. Kill farming and ghost hunting =/= skill.

I respect high grim players in PVP just because anyone that has grinded out the 100 rumble and salvage wins is doin something right in PVP

5 RepliesGrimoire is a measure of experience. With how easy it is to level up in this game, you can't base your expectations of a player on their gear or level, especially in an RNG based game like this. Look at the requirements for a high grimoire (how many of each enemy you have to kill, how many kills with/against each guardian class, crucible playlist wins, etc.) It's a grind, sure, but it also isn't a walk in the park, it takes a hell of a lot of time, and time builds experience and knowledge of the game. Getting a high grimoire typically expands a player's knowledge base of the game, it's an excellent measure of skill, but of course there are exceptions. I'd say you are a noob regardless of what you say to try and rationalize it.. your Grimoire is pathetic and now you are mad that people want to know your experience level and don't care what version of this game you started on. People thinking Beta or Alpha makes a difference? No, beating everything in the game and doing so across multiple characters, ect. that is what your Grimoire shows.

I'll take anybody no matter the grimoire because I love to help people who haven't done certain things in the game before. I only use other people's grimoire to judge how much they've done with the game.

Generally people with more grimoire play longer and have more experience. I have a 34 friend with 2320 grimoire and hes awful

The hilarious thing is the only people that care are the idiots that play with randoms. The players with a dedicated group/clan don't worry about this nonsense. So in essence, judging random people because you don't have friends lol.

When you can be a level 32 with 900 grimiore ,discriminate away. Doesn't always apply but since HOW made leveling up kinda a joke,sometimes weeding out lower grimiore can help

the only things high grimoire (let's say 3300+) are that you're dedicated to the game and have played a lot (i.e.- likely to have good understanding of various areas and enemies) and that you likely have a wide variety of Exotics (i.e.- again, you've played very long or you're lucky with RNG) ...none of the above is a skill indicator - ANYone who picked up this game a week ago and have all the time in the world to JUST play can have way above 3000 grimoire
