Taught all three of my kids to shoot, and of course how to do it safely. Now, years later we went out this 4th to a rather crowded event amidst the isis call for attacks. My now 18 year old daughter (and I'm proud to say the class of 2015 Valedictorian) saw me getting my service pistol and two spare 13 round mags. She asked why not my compact, so I told her about the threat and asked her if she still wanted to go. She said, "Yes, otherwise they win." And then she smiled and said, "If they do try something, they're going to learn this isn't France, aren't they?"
My kids get it.
