They will count if you do them the way I stated.
Only RED BAR NON HEROIC NON STRIKE enemies will count.
It's been that way since release and its known to them. I guess they just can't fix it.

And that's why I posted the issue. I'm not looking to grind a check point over and over again, I'm looking to get this fixed and be able to play the game like you would expect to play, by slowly accumulating kills through normal activities.
