Yes, the Husk still drops from the Blade of Crota. There is a chance that every time you kill the Blade it will drop the Husk.
[EDIT] Thanks for all the replies and investigations everyone. I am taking this info and talking to the development team about it. Stay tuned.

Just a thought, but in their weekly update they said: "In preparation for the 1.2.0.5 update, Destiny and Bungie.net were taken offline for maintenance today (8/6/2015)" Maybe the update will arrive this coming week?

I wanted to know with the maintenance tomorrow, will the Husk of the Pits gun be fixed and drop or not?

Guys, Bungie had already given a timeframe for the fix of the Husk of the Pit. Hot Fix 1.2.0.5 will be the resolution of the Husk of the Pit - Fist of Crota will contain Blades of Crota for Husk of The Pit drop - Husk of The Pit will drop from Blades of Crota - Husk of The Pit drop rate will be increased. - Fix to come within the next month

I really would appreciate if you did cause I need a Husk of the pit cause I have a crux but no Husk

How is Destiny Player Support going to make up for providing false information about the Husk still dropping? As one of the players who has killed over 1000 Blades of Crota based on the your word that the Husk still drops as well as that of mentors and moderators, it would be nice if you could at least acknowledge the fact that this situation was improperly handled and could have been recognized sooner.

Yeah i too have farmed for hours on this mission for the husk since it's the only place to get a blade of crota anymore. Now i find out i didn't even have a chance to get it... Pretty bummed, lots of wasted time for a gun i won't even care about until the 2.0 changes come to auto rifles and specifically nechrocasm. I just figured if i started now i'd have it by then..

Bungie should have done the research before answering instead of letting the community do free research for them like always. You guys are charging $40 for a DLC, you'd think you could afford it.
