In other posts I have created I have raged and yelled in all caps. For this post I decided to go the polite way. First off, I have never done a raid. I have once but that was when my friends carried me as a level 24. Now they are on Xbox one. Because of no raid matchmaking I can't enjoy the content I paid for and I can't get the raid gear or materials. Most likely if you see this you will tell me of your philosophy and our "favorite" lfg. Well I have news for you, it's not our favorite. It's full of elitists. I want to play the game and expansions I paid $80 in all for. Let me also add that the matchmaking would be optional and therefore you don't have to participate in it. I do weekly heroics all the time and I have yet to find any AFK'ers or cheaters. Matchmaking is the same as lfg except faster. Please bungie put in OPTIONAL matchmaking for raids, night falls, and PoE.
Edit: Okay, I get the guys who disagree with this but do you think you could be a bit less mentally challenged and take a closer look at the word "optional".
At least I'm being polite :)

Edited by Kone19ps: 11/10/2015 10:26:57 PMMatchmaking should be an option for all but hard mode oryx. Make matchmaking require Mics I wouldn't be against it. I just don't think they have to ability to program more than off or on as shown by the weekly heroics

LFG is full of elitist players who only accept gjallahorn, max level, or flawless trials. There are a select few Sherpas out there willing to help, but it is a select few. For 90% of players (especially casual folks), LFG simply does not work. If Bungie cuts the best content out for casual folks, that will be a TON of lost revenue. Who would pay for a game that they can't play the best content??? Optional matchmaking (and, yes, there are a large number of trolls out there who have no idea what the word "optional" means) would entirely eliminate the problem. Would a team of random noobs who has never completed VOG before and who at least half are not using mics be able to successfully complete VOG? No. Not a chance. Do they deserve the right to try? Absolutely. They paid for it and thus have a right to play what they paid for. Since almost no one on LFG is willing to Sherpa, optional matchmaking is really the only answer. Finally, the gjallahorn nerf is partly driven by the fact that it is a gating item on LFG. That is a complete BS reason. Optional matchmaking is the answer, not a weapon nerf. What Bungie doesn't realize is that by making gjallahorn weaker, they are actually INCREASING the odds that it will be an LFG gating item. Optional matchmaking ... if you don't like it, you do not have to use it. If you need it, it could be there. It is a win win, would increase the active player base, and help Bungie revenue since more players will be able to enjoy what they paid for.

I agree that matchmaking should be part of the game. What I find even more frustrating is that Bungie is so concerned about the LTG sites that they are "fixing" Ghorn to account for behavior on websites that they don't administer. The real way to fix this issue is to provide matchmaking within the game.

1 ReplyI fully agree with that. Maybe also put it on the higher level prison of elders too. This might be going a little too far but Trials of Osiris might be nice with optional matchmaking too.

If they gave you what you wanted you would be miserable. I've left countless lfg groups cause I won't put up with other people's shit. It would take hours to find a good group

3 RepliesQuoted for truth: "Matchmaking is the same as lfg except faster." The only difference is matchmaking does not take mics into account, but that would be easy to fix.

2 RepliesYep, matchmaking should be included in the game for all activities but should be optional. This is so incredibly basic that I'm completely dumbfounded at times that it hasn't been implemented into the game.

I agree for once. most of the post like this are blind nerd rages.

I used to not think this was a big deal, until I stopped playing for a few months and wanted to play again. All the people I used to play with moved on a long time ago (really before i stopped playing anyway), and I don't want to go through all the work of building a new network of people just to be able to run a couple random PoE, Nightfalls or raids. Not having matchmaking is hurting the game in the long run, because it will keep long time players from coming back when their social support in game disappears and they don't want to spend more time finding a party than doing the activity.

2 RepliesEdited by madmannyg: 7/13/2015 11:01:50 PMI'm not an elitist. First off. I started out buying destiny with a ps4 and only one friend on my friends list and he didn't even play destiny. Loved the game. And someone told me about the recruitment section. I have found my clan and some awesome ppl that I play with very regularly. Ppl that I even know in real life now. I also understand that that doesn't work out sometimes. I joined a lot of groups over the dark below times XD but eventually found good groups. Maybe matchmaking will fix your problem and many other pols problems. But I invite to do over 100 strikes with three random strangers.... You will notice a very large number of asshats in the matchmaking that will make that miserable. Imagine now if you will that increased by 100%. If you can't find a swordbearer or relic holders (which is somehow rare) what makes matchmaking better? These are things that are needed to complete the encounters. Edit: I'm not trying to elitist but just a legitimate question. And concern if there is matchmaking. I only fear that a lot of ppl will be even more off put by it than having to go to an lfg site. My proposed solution would be an In game lfg mixed with matchmaking. Like if you held the relic before then you get match made with those that have not. And a vote to boot option for those afk.
