There's more pressing issues on the table besides poor little Jimmy not being able to play because he's too daft to use the tools that this awesome community have developed to remedy Bungies bad design choices. I don't think mm will be coming any time soon, hopefully it ships with TTK but I doubt it. Weapon balancing and making worthwhile content should be the main focus of the updates. You're making the lack of mm as some sort of oppression from an evil corporation, rather than what it really is, bungies dumb design choice. They tried to force casuals to make friends with like minded individuals, force them to choose their fire team and spare them from the the evil depths that is mm. Destiny didn't ship with VoIP because of this, when no one talks, no one gets their feelings hurt. If a casual gets his feelings hurt the he'll tell him s friends of of his terrible destiny experience. And then the community bitched that they wanted voice in game and nobody even uses it.

Mm is an amazing way to meet people when you know how to implement it. Bungie's approach has been shitty since Halo. World of Warcraft has mm in all its content and it works amazingly well. The reason Halo's mm was full of so many shit talking assholes wasn't because it was mm, it was because they did their stupid one and done matches. Unlike other games where you played game to game, in Halo you weren't ever going to play those people again and so it led to shit talking. Throw in the brilliant decision to allow cross-team chat before and after as well as the ability to team kill in-game and it was a disaster. But that's again all just shitty game design. Absolutely nothing you can queue for in Destiny requires communication.

[/quote] Using LFG, or having a clan is not going to ruin your social life unless you don't know how to manage time. A couple minutes in LFG won't make you a social outcast. I can fill a lobby in 4 minutes after posting an LFG without crazy restrictions. As soon as I post the notice I'm flooded with messages from people wanting an invite. I still run both raids and take low levels with me. I get to know the players and add the friendly ones and remove the problematic ones, after a couple times time I have a friends list in-game I can just mass invite instead of using LFG. You probably never thought about doing this, why bother when you can just complain. Complaining is easier and you get to lead a bunch of fools that can't come up with their own solutions. How many times would you get called a racial slur? I know this because I've seen this happen. Hosting a game with people you got from LFG allows you to have more control of who is in your party before the game starts, you can't boot in matchmaking. Halo 2 and 3 had amazing matchmaking both skill and social. Social mm in all Halo games since 2 kept the lobby the same unless people quit out, then it would fill the empty spots. I've been through some crap. My experiences with matchmaking have been downright horrible. For the longest time I didn't use mics because didn't want anyone to hear my voice and start with the stereotypical slurs. With LFG I can make a team I'm comfortable with in a matter of minutes. If matchmaking is added there will be no reason left for people to use LFG and I'll be screwed again. Talk about not knowing peoples circumstances.
