Cam someone tell me the story of drstiny in a nutshell?
I still trying.to wrap.my head around the awoken as well as the cobal and their story. Why did everyone die at the reef? Can so eine give me a high level over view of the races and what the heck happened?

During the Collapse, the Darkness's attempt to destroy humanity and the Traveller, many humans sought to escape the conflict. They filled up countless colony ships and tried to flee. This exodus made it as far as the asteroid belt when they were caught in the middle of an explosion of Darkness and Light crashing against each other ( probably from the fight between the Traveller and the Darkness). This explosion of Light and Dark killed many and destroyed most of the fleet. The survivors were changed by the event. They were no longer humans, they are now the Awoken. They are creatures that are both Light and Dark.

Hive raising an army to destroy Earth - Finished in The Dark Below House of Wolves breaking away from The Reef, or "The Favor" - Finished in HoW Cabal trying to find Charlemagne - Destiny, Forge of Gods? Oryx raising an army to destroy the Guardians - The Taken King As you can see. You need to buy DLC to finish the story. What a joke

Edited by Nssun: 7/13/2015 10:31:03 AMThe Darkness is a mysterious force that engulfed the solar system. The Traveler's light was able to keep it at bay, to an extent. His light reached approximately until the Asteroid Belt, where the Reef is. During the collapse a bunch of humans tried to make a run for it, but they only made it til the Asteroid Belt when the darkness hit. Since the Traveler's light wasn't as strong there, they were "touched" by the Darkness, and changed into what we know as the Awoken. There were human colonies beyond the Asteroid Belt, it is thought that they were changed much more than the Awoken because their contact with the Darkness was direct. Xur is one of those people. Wether their change was made by the Darkness alone, or after they made a symbiotic pact with some unknown alien race, is yet undetermined.
