Negative ghostrider. Our solar system is a closed space. The sun is in entropy. Eventually it will decline and cause disorder throughout our solar system when it goes boom. You went wrong when you thought earth mattered that much in the scheme of things

  • No it isn't, our ability to see stars at night proves this.

  • 1. wrong. the earth had a mass extinction event in during the pre-Cambrian age which wiped out 70% of all life on Earth at the time. there is good evidence to show that this extinction was caused by a gamma ray burst from an exploding star going super nova. this star was not our sun, obviously and so events far outside our solar system impact life on Earth. you and I are constantly being bombarded by particles from space that were generated by various cosmic events going back to the big bang and the vast majority of them originated far outside of our solar system and some of them billions of years ago. according to multiverse and membrane theories, even the universe may not be a closed system, but rather part of a much larger system far outside of human perception and possibly even outside of human comprehension where physics does not follow the same rules as it does here. 2. wrong. our sun will never 'go boom.' it is not large enough. it will get hotter as time goes by and the elements it uses for fuel change due to the process of fusion, but eventually when there is only iron left our sun will just quit being a sun and become a lump of metal.

  • Ok. But it still supports creationism

  • How? How does earth not going into entropy because it's not a closed space support creationism whatsoever?!

  • Because the solar system is going in entropy. The solar system supports creationism. Quit thinking so small and think on a larger scale.

  • a small thought lecture from a creationist... wtf? There is no need for god to not exist for the universe to exist exactly as science describes it, but there in a need for the universe to not exist as science describes it for the Christian Bible to be literal. God is, by my definition, the as to yet undefined energy that seems to be opposing entropy, but it is not, I repeat, not, the God described by the Bible.

  • Technically, you are correct. The entire universe does not receive energy from an outside source. It is a closed space. But can you please show me an area of the universe, other than earth where evolution would take place? You may disagree instantly, not wishing to acknowledge evolution. However, the truth is that the earth is the only place it can take place. There are other planets. One we discovered was around the same size, shape, and in general similar to earth. But earth is still the only place evidence of evolution has been observed. So, any time this statement about the universe is brought up, the fact is that we can only focus on earth.

  • this is not entirely correct as multiverse theory suggests that this universe and others (perhaps an infinite number of them) are interconnected and as such this universe may not be a close system. oh, and molecular 'life' is a highly plastic concept and may be possible anywhere that atoms can become molecules. the universe may be literally crawling with life. prions for example are self replicating proteins that do not have DNA but can exist and create more of themselves given the right conditions. how you define life determines where you think it is possible, but rest assured there is other 'life' in the universe, even if it's something you can't comprehend.

  • Again how does that support creationism. God=entropy? Not really making the connection.
