This is a thread for anyone who has been called a fanboy. Regardless of platform. Just explain why you aren't and, whenever someone tries to claim you are, just post a link to this thread. That way you don't clog up other topics with all the circular arguments. I'll go first. Please don't read if you become aggravated by facts I'm not a fanboy as I do not believe there is one objectively better console [i]experience[/i]. Yes the ps4 is more powerful and will likely be more futureproof moving forward, but there is so much more to consider! If you prefer online shooters over RPGs or narrative games for example, xbone is likely better. Your friends might be on xbone; you may like being able to get American football stats or have the internet snapped to the side of your screen. In this case the reduced power, which is barely seen in multi platform games anyway, likely won't bother you too much. On the other hand, if you have no interest in cutting down your screen or processing power for the sake of multimedia and want as system that will be more able to run games designed on PC over the next ten year (more able than the competition, not as able as PC obviously); or you're interested in virtual reality, or like jrpgs etc, go for ps4. In the spoiler below I break down my thoughts more, i don't expect anybody to care so I've hidden it. It's Just there to redirect people to when necessary. [spoiler]I'm not a fanboy because I don't ignore the qualities of other systems, I just honestly prefer the ps4. A fanboy is not someone with a preference, but rather someone who ignores facts and clear reality. For example. Ps4 is more powerful is a fact. Better gpu and more, and better integrated, memory. Say the xbone is more powerful and you are a fanboy. But say you prefer the xbone exclusives and it's more robust online system and you are not. I'm not a fanboy because I do not have love for Sony, they are a business. I do however hate MS marketing bullshit. This is a dislike for a company based on fact however, not unreasonable fanboyism to another company. Look at the bs claims MS made about the cloud making xbone so much more powerful, or the bs hololense presentation, or the "oculus support" which is no such thing. I'm not a fanboy just because i prefer ps4 games either. Xbone has great games, but I'm a jrpg fan not a dudebro (online) shooter fan, so ps4 suits me so much better. I also like narrative based games... I'm not a fanboy just because I prefer the ps4 controller either. I have had every ps system and am used to the analogue stick layout. I had 360 all of last gen and could never get used to the offset sticks. This is not me being a fanboy. Nor is it when I say that the ps4 is technically superior to the xbone controller. It has more buttons, a touchpad, gyroscope, speaker, headphone jack and is vr ready. Xbone controller only has rumble triggers as an extra benefit. These are facts. Now, if I had use for watching TV on a tiny section of screen whilst playing games, or passing my cable through another device (taking up more electricity) I would say so. I don't. Xbone has the ability to let me control all of that by voice without needing a headset however, this is a plus to some people. Posting a link to a comparison piece on particular games also doesn't make me a fanboy simple because they usually show a ps4 advantage. Last gen I found them very useful when deciding whether to buy on PS3 or 360, and they will be useful this gen if you own both systems (which I likely will when the xbone price matches its value [b]for me[/b]). I do find it a good way of getting rid of fanboys however, objective analysis with numbers tends to do that. Finally, I think VR has more gaming applications than AR, so I prefer Morpheus to hololense. Most people agree with this. Doesn't make me a fanboy. Hololense is great tech for engineering/design etc. Most importantly however, whenever I make a comment I don't insult xbone, wii u or PC users. We are all gamers together![/spoiler]
