So I don't understand how people get so many kills with fusion rifles in the Crucible. The only one I ever got was when I was trying to decide which special weapon I liked best and that was one of my proudest moments, I jumped on top of an enemy player driving an interceptor and my characters feet basically locked on instead of me being mowed down, giving me the time to charge my uncommon fusion rifle. So I want to hear about your fusion rifle experiences. Wether you rarely use one unless you get a good one(I just got Murmur, haven't been able to test it though) or its your favorite weapon please do share.

Rarely use it but before patch I had this plug one that was basically a sniper still good but don't use it that much anymore

Peruns fire and snakebite surgeon are two really good ones lately

My favorite as of now would have to be my Exile's Curse. It such a good fusion rifle. My favorite before that would have to be the Split Shifter Pro, it has a good base charge rate, mag size, and got a good roll with the perks

10 RepliesI still use fusion rifles a lot in crucible! Try getting a split shifter and reroll it with coils/braced frame, hot swap and hipfire. The coils is perfect if you're not really a fast reaction kinda guy. Otherwise you can take braced frame and max out stability on it. It makes the lasers spread less. Hipfire is a must on fusions for me. You'd be surprised how many close range combats I win with it. People just don't expect that charge up anymore lol! See video for example. You'd think that with a slow ass charging fusion like that, I'd get shot down right? It's all about knowing the timing and keep moving while charging and firing. The fusion in this vid is a give/take equation.

Anyone know how Servant of Askor performs in Crucible? Just got one the other day on Judgement Chance. Good impact...

2 RepliesA couple weeks ago I picked up one of those "kill 15 guardians with a fusion rifle bounty." I killed about 4 in 3 games and then just deleted it. And I used to run around with a fusion rifle as a primary. Even before the nerf, people started getting better about jumping around and strafing to evade them. Now all they are really good for is making your opponent sit up a bit and say "Huh, he's actually using a fusion rifle? Weird."
-
3 RepliesHonestly my biggest gripe with them is how they can be a bit inconsistent. Sometimes a point blank shot kills the enemy, other times it leaves them with just 3-5% health.
-
1 ReplyI did the thorn bounty in 5 games back in vanilla destiny using a void final rest and a void zombie apocalypse on my hunter. The fusion rifle nerf hurt them hard, but I have a good roll waiting for a buff.
-
2 RepliesI wouldn't attempt it now. Fusions aren't very reliable in crucible anymore. Shotguns have just about as much range as a fusion rifle does.
-
1 ReplyI use them a lot. Biggest reasons you don't see them is because of ridiculous shotgun ranges and that charge rates don't go well with blink
-
2 RepliesI use Plan C and may I ask what a Interceptor is?
-
The calming is my fusion rifle of choice is first gen tech it has the top charge rate stock has spray and play send it and feeding frenzy the thing negated nerfs i swear lol and was one of my first nightfall drops back when you could only get good rolls on legendaries from night falls
-
5 RepliesEquip Vex. Aim for face. Collect tears and kills.
-
occasionally i still use the legendary plug.one fusion rifle for bounties in the crucible. I am used to its timing so still possible to get kills in crucible, keep your distance and watch out around corners :) But i am not using it frequently in crucible
-
6 RepliesIt's fun once you have a good one. It's the only thing capable of combating against shotguns. Try final rest || from dead orbit.
-
7 RepliesFusions were nerfed. Not many good ones now.

You have to work on the timing because the initial charge is very slow.

1 ReplySometimes I miss the Meta before auto rifles and fusion rifles were nerfed. Two weapon types that used to be able to punish at medium range
-
Just use high fire rate fusions and you'll wipe the floor. The high impact ones don't do much anymore: but your final rest 2, old NM one, crucible drop one and a few others will tear through enemies.
-
3 RepliesI get a lot of kills with fusions in crucible. A lot of the key to using the fusion rifle is knowing where the enemy is coming my from. 99% of players rush around with shotguns so you have to be able to fire first and not miss. High impact low charge rate fusions are almost useless in crucible because you simply cannot miss. Pick one with a decent impact and fairly high charge and practice. Pulling off 3 quick FR kills and clearing an on rushing team is amazing. With all that said, the latest renerf of FR's have made them obsolete in crucible so shotgun will net you a lot more kills.

6 RepliesI've tried them but by the time the thing charges I'm getting killed and shooting a wall…
-
Kill any shot gunners that get near me with my light of the abyss

Edited by Lrich1986: 7/13/2015 11:45:43 PMBefore the most recent fusion nerf I used to run a purifier with hip fire. Didn't even need to ads and I could 1 shot people from triple shotgun distance or maybe more. Managed to hip fire 1 shot a guy on Blind Watch when I was on zone A and he was up on the higher platform behind it. Was ridiculous lol. Used to love it in an open space when someone tried shotgun rushing me. I just run backwards and bam
-
Charge the shot behind cover and pop out when it's about to fire. I got my first 10 kill streak using solar murmur with that strategy. Also aim down sight unless it has the hip fire perk

1 ReplyYou look cute today

1 ReplyI did pretty good running a Plug 1 with void damage for the thorn bounty. Only void weapon I had at the time. Priming it helps a bit.
