Part I: The Black Garden The Stranger tells of a great evil hidden in the mythical Black Garden. Find the Black Garden, brave the forces of Darkness protecting it, and rip out it's heart. If you succeed, perhaps she may show herself. -Complete "The Black Garden" on Level 28 with the Heroic Modifier active. Reward: A Strange Rifle Part II: Return the Strange Rifle to Banshee-44 The Exo Stranger rewarded you with a most unusual weapon for your triumph in the Black Garden. It's been through a lot; for this pulse rifle's full potential to be realized, you should bring it the Gunsmith in the Tower. -Bring the Strange Rifle to the Gunsmith. Reward: Vault of Glass Coordinates Part III: The Templar's Well This rifle appears to use Vex technology in it's construction, but quite unlike anything seen on Venus or Mars. Tech like this could only come from the Vault of Glass; the mysterious Vex underworld beneath Venus. Within the Vault dwells a Vex axis mind called the Templar; destroy it, and salvage whatever you can from the remains. -Defeat the Templar in the Vault of Glass raid on Venus. Reward: Templar's Mind Core Part IV: Return to Banshee-44 The Templar's mind core holds vital data on Vex weapon technology that will be invaluable to restoring The Stranger's Rifle. But to fully restore it, Banshee needs components from high-quality weapons. -Give the Templar's Mind Core to the Gunsmith. Reward: List of Needed Components Part V: Quality Weapon Parts Banshee needs a number of high-quality components to finish his work on The Stranger's Rifle. Acquire the parts he needs by dismantling Rare-quality weapons or better. -Acquire a Precision Barrel by dismantling Rare-quality Primary weapons. -Acquire an Arclight Power Cell by dismantling Rare-quality Special weapons. -Acquire a Mass Driver by dismantling Rare-quality Heavy weapons. Rewards: Precision Barrel, Arclight Power Cell, Mass Driver Part VI: Bring the parts to Banshee. The components you acquired should help with restoring The Stranger's Rifle, but it's still missing vital components. Banshee does not recognize the parts that need replacing, but Ghost analysis suggests they're not of this time period. If that is so, there may be only one way to acquire them. -Return the components to the Gunsmith in the Tower. Reward: Incomplete Pulse Rifle Part VII: Atheon, Times Conflux To complete the restoration of The Stranger's Rifle, you must acquire parts that do not yet exist. The only way to get these is through Atheon, the Vex axis mind that serves as warden to the Vault of Glass. Bring the rifle to Atheon, and confront him; the final component you need may be found in the timestream. -Defeat Atheon, Times Conflux in the Vault of Glass raid on Venus. Reward: Time-Warped Pulse Rifle Part VIII: Return to Banshee-44 The Stranger's Rifle has absorbed the energies of Atheon, and has reforged itself anew. Banshee should be able to make the final adjustments to make it useable. -Return the Time-Warped Pulse Rifle to the Gunsmith in the Tower.
