3 RepliesEdited by Stahero: 7/12/2015 11:00:58 AMWell, well... What have we here? A fellow contributor? Here to throw his two Glimmer into an already overflowing money pot of opinions? Or are you simply one of the many Guardian malcontents? Here to vehemently cross your arms and stamp your feet at Bungie's supposed negligence? Let us see... Lost Sols, from what I've read of your tactfully written prose, you seem to admire civility. Something sorely lacking there of in this community, I'm sure you'd agree. And so I convene with you, Guardian to Guardian, to host an exchange of ideology regarding our mutual point of interest: The Game of Destiny. CRUCIBLE Bungie's PvP is easily described as unforgiving. At its crux, the Crucible is inherently defined by powerhouse weaponry and thus continues to sit uneasily on an always wavering axis tilt; one which graciously favors the arsenal hype over player skill. Thorn, The Last Word, and Red Death are exemplary paradigms of such. And therein lies Crucibles biggest problem. You see, once an arsenal hype reaches a level of certain hysteria, the community at whole takes notice and most will enthusiastically participate. The result, of course, is that particular arsenal hype becoming aggressively overused. This further engenders stifled and generic multiplayer coupled with an stern and wounding loss of developed and unique play-styles. The Guardian malcontents who indulge this corrosive cycle are partly to blame. And that, my dear, is hardly the fault of any weapon. CONTENT However, regarding the most recent update, I for one support the decisions Destiny Dev Team wholeheartedly. I'm also aware I'm in the minority, whereas the vast majority demands a great many things from Bungie, vault space and generally greater content are among them. Perhaps my forbearance is an extension of my dubiously low expectations of Destiny, which is not to say I think lowly of the game. I simply accept Destiny for what is and expect nothing more. It is a MMO, Sols, however loose the interpretation. If I want to experience compelling story, I'll turn my attention to Mass Effect or Dragon Age. If I demand Brobdingnagian content, the Elder Scrolls and Fallout are more than sufficient. And lastly customization is best experienced through games like the latter or Minecraft. I.e., I don't look to Destiny to fulfill my every gaming need; It provides that which it is meant to, and that, my dear, is community. We're it not for the social aspects, I wouldn't dare give Destiny the time of day. After all, where is the benefit there? CONDUCT Overall, I suppose I agree with most of what you have to say. At times I can find your inflammatory speech to be unbecoming and somewhat barbaric, but you do posture yourself better than most, something which a compelling argument unequivocally requires. Food for thought, and maybe I'll even see you star side. Until next time, Eltar Sarkhardy

1 ReplyJust to point this out, It's Deej's job to be a gamer, he tells the devs what the community wants, and it's up to the Devs to fix the game. If the devs dont fix the game, lets see, lets all go blame Deej.

29 RepliesHey hold on now, you should be more positive, and say something nice about DeeJ like [REDACTED][REDACTED] or how about how awesome Luke Smiths idea for [REDACTED][REDACTED][REDACTED]. And how [REDACTED] you actually are for [REDACTED][REDACTED].

3 RepliesWhen I saw these stats, I lol'd. They prove that a large portion their fans base can be dragged wherever Bungie desires. When you think about it, going through the grind for the "legendary emblem" is an utter waste of time. Here are the stats I'm referring to. (They come straight from this weeks update.) Comparing this week to last week: 39% increase in Public Event completion 74% increase in Skolas kills in Prison of Elders 40% increase in Crota’s End Hard Mode participation 10% increase in Vault of Glass Hard Mode participation (Everyone had already run it for Fatebringer)

1 ReplyIf they ever really said anything that these forums propose I'd be shocked. At least tell us you are working on it. But nope. It's all about TTK. How can we make more money? Not how can we make this game better. If they did anything I mean anything for optional mm or weapon rebalance. They could save people from leaving and make money. But nope. They "know best apparently". A community rep that barely plays or reads forums. Instead it took an insult on Twitter? Really. Deej gets insulted more on these forums than anywhere. But nope it's Twitter that gets him. Bungledvision needs to wake up and do what the people who pay them want. Aka us.

62 RepliesDude what is your deal? All you do is rag on the game over and over and constantly make threads about how bad Bungie is. They're at least TRYING to make up for their mistakes by adding more content and overhauling the UI. It isn't much yeah, but it's better than nothing. It seems you have nothing positive to say about this game, it honestly seems like you hate it. So why not just leave the forums, and forget Destiny existed. Trade it in, delete it whatever. You payed 60+ dollars so yeah you're entitled to your opinion. But you're not entitled to be a little bitch. Before you call me a Bungie fanboy, I'm not. I actually haven't played Destiny in over 3 weeks. I'm just sick and tired of these threads ragging on people. So please, chill the -blam!- out and move on.

Am I the only who noticed that the 'We are considering' list is gone? Bump, by the way.

4 RepliesFor me Destiny changed my whole gaming world, after buying the other 3rd (played beta) and not bieng type that adds friends willy nilly, i considered deleting it, after getting as far as i could back then, if only i'd of just bought a disc and not went and got digital gaurdian ed, ps4 one as well which was £85, but there really wasn't much else around and thought of just losing out on that amount, well, it kept me playing, now IF £85 over my gaming times was all's i'd of felt i lost, (if only) then i'd just be stupid, but it was first 'sting' on 'new gen' that followed (way too) many others from previous.. the proverbial straw.. so i heard about Acti's and Bungies plan of having Everyone playing this, so when you switch on console all you see is all friends playing Destiny, probobly all the time thier on.. decided i was going to do this instead of deleting/moving on and have played Destiny non stop ever since.. some days i have had very good xp's, most days not, it's 'enough' just, to stop me from persuing what was a very expensive hobby, buying games, used to buy games on a whim, not play em due to not enough time and trade em back for peanuts, if at all but i enjoyed it, that was a hobby and hobbies mostly cost cash.. what i hated was games i had eye on Not bieng 'as advertised' like Destiny.. can't say IF it'd of been a ps3 purchase i'd of just bitten tongue and stopped playing.. i think as it was ps4/new gen (kind of) i actually said I Am NOT Taking THIS No More... so i played the game, both that is, Destiny and Destiny's 'vision'.. ie to have players constantly online so friends would see em allways playing Destiny, perhaps thinking 'man that must be awesome' am happy to say since i done that i'd say i must of saved over a thousand pound easy, because i play it 'thier way' i just can't go and buy anything else, i mean i Have to play Destiny Every waking (gaming) hour, don't i?.. so i just can't go spend my cash on any other game.. at first i missed handing my money or card over at games shops, withdrawal symptoms were real, i'd pass one and out of habbit go to walk in, sometimes before entering i'd realise the futility, other times not, so if i'd find myself inside these dens of virtual inequities i'd be very tempted to buy, especially when there'd be half price sales on etc.. but i stayed strong, kept my footing and true course and walked out, wallet unopened.. the guys at my prefered outlet went from having welcoming looks on faces, to kind of confused/scratching heads and finally my 'memory' left em.. now these were guys that'd 'slip me' a game a few days before release, even a almighty CoD game one time, while most were queing up for a midnight launch i'd already have my copy.. thats not because i'm likable, merely because i was a massive spender, am sure theres many others that've had similar treatment, anyway all that is now in the past, i'm now game free since Destiny and my finances have improved quite a bit.. all thanks to this game bieng made in way it was. i mean it was just good enough to keep playing, so i played it and nothing else, i sometimes wonder how/if psn or activision react to similar (if any) tales like mine, i mean they (psn) also must of noticed my drastic drop in buying stuff just constant playing of Destiny instead.. i know i know, i'm but a fraction of a percent in scheme of it all.. imagine though if i was one of those they have as a 'figure' in thier fact sheets or whatever they are named.. or indeed IF theres others that have done same as me, even if not for same reasons... thats just about only thing that brings a smile to me, is thought of some excec's at acti looking at general gaming sales/time games are played and have seen that yes, they have made X amount monies from way they bastardized Destiny, But profits from other projects actually amount to a forecasted loss... lol IF so then that could explain why there going banana's with TTK both US cost but, worse the crap they've pulled with EU pricing.. so i will throw my few quid at tv screen, for destiny, God knows it's saved me enough that I won't miss it, guess it's love hate thing, sometimes it's love, unfortunately mostly it's love to hate.. the above might well be a wall of buthurt text to some, one thing it also is, is truth.. make of it whatever, i'm past point of giving 2 vindaloo's.

1 ReplyLost Sols, some of your threads I like and agree with, like your MM thread. This is not one of them. Attacking Deej solves nothing.; You want to change the game? I'm with you on that and have made suggestions and stuff myself. But try to be constructive about it rather then.. well this.

Bump, and sols for new community leader! Lol

70 RepliesEdited by Lander: 7/11/2015 7:31:57 AMAye, I cringed twice: '… Surrender the stage to Luke Smith' Boooooooo hissssssssss. Seriously. F*ck that guy. I'm gonna be pissed off with him for a while. And no. I'm still not throwing my money at the screen. And 'Favourite LFG site' Wrong, DeeJ. I do not have a favourite LFG site. I f*cking hate LFG sites, taking a little potshot at us like that was a bit of a stinger. And yeah, I noticed that you and Luke made no mention of making any amendments to this shortcoming. And it's the main (only) reason why I'm not excited for The Taken King. And before you fanboys think of uttering that same tired line: 'Oh my gyard ur soo layzay, u should towtally be just using LFG it taykes like -3.412 seconds and I've got ten gazillion requwests.' No. Just no. That shit is like going to a restaurant, ordering your food, only for the bald headed c*nt waiter to prance over and say 'we'll find you food, but we won't find you cutlery' before directing you down to the f*cking IKEA next door, because the restaurant's 'philosophy' states that finding the means to eat the food is 'part of the experience'. No. I want my shit then and there, with the option to go and bring my own cutlery if I want to. Edit: I've just managed to get my Fanboy Detector 3000 fired up: *6 Fanboys detected, and counting*
I must have missed all the posts asking for more quests. Since obviously there must be a tremendous clamouring for them somewhere, I'm glad they got that out of the way first. Oh poor DeeJ, sorry it hurts your feelers that everyone notices you don't play the game or participate on the forums. If only everyone understood the time and effort it takes to write these masterful weekly updates. Seriously, each one is like an episode of Seinfeld. I particularly liked the "favorite lfg site" jab, that was pure gold. I'm glad you're going to buckle down and start really playing though. Next week when you don't have sh*t left to do, maybe you'll get that quests or lack there of isn't the problem. -Sols out
Sols drops the mic!!!
