yes. it set the standard for which all modern console FPS games should be measured in terms of playability. it was really the first console FPS that controlled really well and didn't feel clunky, it had balance and variety in pvp. actually, the xbox controller is the way it is now because MS worked with Bungie to make a design and layout that would be good for FPS games. so... yeah, Defined would be a good way to put it.

so we're just gonna overlook Goldeneye for N64? I don't disagree that Halo [b]was[/b] a great series, but it was no pioneer for the FPS genre.

so... aiming up and down was super easy without a second stick? not saying that Goldeneye was bad, but it didn't change console gaming.
