I currently have a zero point lotp with full auto/hand-laid stock/hidden hand, but am considering to reroll for firefly or crowd control in the last slot. The reason being that zero point already has decent aim assistance to begin with, and very good stability with hand-laid stock, which kind of makes it feel like hidden hand is redundant.
My question is which one is preferable in pve, firefly or crowd control. Which one does more dps overall?
*edit: I understand that firefly may be more "fun" to use and also ironically are more effective than crowd control at controlling crowds. However, since u r dealing 15% more dmg as long as u keep lining up headshots, couldnt crowd control potentially be more useful against higher level enemies which tend not to be affected as much by the blast from firefly (except getting staggered)?

1 ReplyCrowd Control does 15% more damage. For 3 (!!!) seconds After a kill. That's Three shots. Not really enough to kill a Major. I'd rather have firefly for quick Elimination of mobs and Switch to Special/Heavy for Majors. You basically gain more Time inbetween Mobs and Majors If you clean the room with explosions.

I have Gheleon's Demise with Full Auto, HCR/AP, Firefly... I LOVE IT. It's low RoF makes controlling the recoil & stability very easy... you can plink off single rounds for the firefly proc... or go full auto to stun-lock majors (and finish them off with a Firefly round). If the modifier that prevents stun-locking is on... then I just switch to AP rounds.

Edited by CitifiedRug381: 7/7/2015 8:54:56 AMFor those of u who argue CC to be better than FF, could u please state why? And like i said in the discription, im referring to which one is more helpful in higher level pve content.

ORES red dot actually moves with aim assist and if any portion of the outer ring touches critical you do critical making it the best optic for this gun. Rodeo removes all sideways motion from bumps and AOE splash your are taking. Snap Shot literally aims for you. Outlaw, because gun description.

1 ReplyCrowd control is best for "oh crap" moments. Like Omnigul Strikes full of affectionate Thrall. Best suited for AR, Shotgun, and LMG for 3 seconds. Firefly is for shooting the second thrall in and popping the whole group with 1 shot.

I have a one/one synthesise with red dot oes and firefly and I love it! It's my second favourite gun for pve after bad juju.

Edited by OGNoshkanok: 7/6/2015 5:04:56 PMWhat's great about Firefly is its blast radius. Its larger than Icebreaker or Explosive Rounds. I've tested all of them. It'll do 1019 crit damage to the target, and 1019 to anything close to it. Obviously this scales down as proximity decreases. However, damage from behind is scaled up. I've done 500ish damage to a cabal, and the Firefly explosion did 800+ (non-crit) to the phalanx in front of it. I also rolled Firefly onto every scout rifle I have: Zero Point, One/One Synesthete, Hygiea Noblesse. My original is a Badger CCL with Outlaw, Hammer Forged, and Firefly. Very similar roll to the Fatebringer. Firefly controls crowds, no question.

I rolled Triple Tap and Firefly on my Zero Point. Its very effective against hordes of Thrall or Dregs, even at higher levels. It's also very effective against majors and bosses thanks to Triple Tap allowing me to almost double my mag size without reloading. Try those two together if you can manage to get a lucky roll.

Going FF here, one bullet big damage!

Definitely Firefly. I have been waiting for the Gheleon Demise to drop for me. High Impact = Grunt birthday party forever

6 RepliesEver since reroll came out, I have put firefly on all of my scout rifles. Wouldn't have it any other way.
