So Dear Bungie, Kell of Kells,
How the hell do I complete it solo?
I'm geared up to level 30, maybe with not as many legendary weapons as I'd like because I'm not a Crucible whore like you want me to be.
But seriously Bungie, WTF. There's challenging and then there's so fraking frustrated from getting killed by so many things over and over that I think; great, this is it for me and the HoW expansion because this is as far as I'm able to get because some retard at Bungie thinks I should do everything in a Fireteam.
Well, newsflash Bungie, I don't have many friends at all on your Aus servers and I don't have time to heard cats trying to find randoms to help me finish a mission that is so ridiculously hard on 'normal' that is nigh on impossible.
Congratulations for making a game as frustrating as Flappy Bird.
Some of us would prefer to solo our PvE content.
Oh, and I'd like to do the raids but you refuse to add Optional Matchmaking.
Oh P.S. really loving getting killed by 1 shot Thorn kills in the Crucible and Iron Banner.

You don't have to play PvP for good gear....the best guns in the game drop in PVE.
-
Yep, getting all legendary gear and weapons will make it much easier. Sprinkle in an exotic weapon and piece of armor, and you're in business. It's hard to hear, but grinding is the answer. Build up strange coins and motes of light and get some goodies from Xur. Nightfalls, higher level strikes, and PoE can get you some gear. Nothing fast about leveling up from scratch.

1 ReplyI soloed the whole how stories on my 32 hunter on the hardest difficulty. Plus you can change the difficulty if its too hard? The only good thing that came from this dlc was the missions, though no cut scene's still makes it suck
-
1 ReplyIt is a level 30 mission. So try using level 30 gear and weapons and work real hard. Or pay your dues and work your way up through hard work and many hours spent working your way up.
-
1 ReplyAnd get your own Thorn. Or go back to Halo or COD.

2 RepliesEdited by Hoops: 7/6/2015 10:30:30 PMGrind the strike playlist to earn marks. Buy vendor gear to get to light 32. Do nightfall and PoE 28. Or just do the mission on easy. Also don't use auto rifles, they have been nerfed so bad that you might as well use a water pistol. Pulse rifles might be better for you.
-
Oh my. Well maybe it all starts with working your way up. Getting the gear and weapons and doing some bounties. Maybe doing a few strike play lists, and a few raids. I mean it isn't easy, but millions have done it. More then a few have done it legit by putting in a few hours.

1 ReplyMessage me if you're on 360. Gt is cubistic

2 RepliesEdited by Moose (Retired): 7/6/2015 10:02:46 PMLooking at the gear you have....yeah it's going to be very hard. You may want to grind some better legendary gear to help out with this. It will take time as RNG always works against you. It took me several attempts with my Titan. But, I made sure to bring along Thunderlord which I bought from Xûr a few months ago. I don't do the crucible. So I'm stuck with what legendary gear I can get via RNG.

1 ReplyDid you do it yet?

What system, I got ps3 and will be more then happy to help. Not like I have much else to do anymore anyway.
-
2 RepliesI thought I was the only one that felt this way. You've made some really good points here. People shouldn't use words like "idiot" when a fellow Guardian would prefer to play the game certain way. Killing other Guardians isn't my thing. I prefer PvE like you, and others.
-
Step 1. Do it on the lowest difficulty I did it in 5 min
-
Do you play on the Xbox 360? If so, I will help you through it.

Have a good machine gun, rocket launcher. Snipe the smaller fallen up top then kill all the shranks. Jump down keep distance check all sides then pull out your heavy of your choice against the majors. Keep repeating this over and over. It is all about playing it smart and cautious. Think of the mission has a mixture nightfall with no boss.
-
You're complaining its to hard,ON PVE! Get good scrub.
-
None of the story missions are hard

Dude go get a team and do the raids. You cab beat it with Hunger of Crota and any weapon from the raids. The raids aren't hard your high enough to do them. I recommend doing VOG seeing how most people wants a better launcher then what you got, even though it doesn't matter now with higher level and more damage we do. Have fun, if you can get to the the fight you can win. The first time I did it had issues with the jump, with my Hunter had to use triple to clear that one.
-
I did it solo 3 times, but I was level 32 on my chars. I don't recall the names of the missions. If it's the final encounter then fight it from the top of the structures on the left. Shoot the teleport discs, work on the adds and then use an RL and sniper rifle on Skolas. All other missions I primarily used a scout rifle to fight them from a distance and use a shotgun if they rush you.

House of wolves being the most recent dlc isn't aimed at lower levelled players. If you are finding it hard to complete the missions solo try farming strikes or even the wolves that drop ether keys as opening those chests drops a decent amount of legendary engrams. Farm strikes earn marks. Spend marks on better guns/armour then complete the missions. It's a ball ache of a grind but before HoW we all did it.
