I just want to see what everyone thinks. To me he hasn't been doing a good job interacting with the community. Sure, he says he reads the forums, but it's been around 2 weeks since he's commented or posted on anything. To me a community manager needs to actually communicate with the community. This is a two way street...and don't get me started on these crappy weekly updates

I say the minimum. after all if you don't follow Twitter you don't know anything about game news in this community.
-
Apparently he's been replaced by Wil Wheaton ;-)
-
...dude,he has the hardest job I've ever seen....trying to polish the turds that keep raining down from Activision and Bungie.
-
Most recent Bungie interview with Playstation explains it
-
do you even know what his job Really is ? because if you think that it's "to communicate with the community" than you really have no idea do you o_O
-
If minimum wasn't good enough then it wouldn't be the minimum.
-
Deej is an AWESOME community manager!
-
Has he been on here in months? Except them occasional update posts that noone can comment on anymore. We do his job for him!!! You have a problem with destiny you look for help it links you to the forums where you just get helped by other member of the game. Usually very rudely getting called scrubs and stuff from asking simple qyestions or having a problem. They was very clever about making us the community support.
-
Managing this community is probably the hardest job in the world. He could be doing a better job weeding out some of the more hateful posters though.

Edited by Faith1essZealot: 7/7/2015 4:23:00 PMI've posted this video before because I feel that it eloquently describes what a community manager should be doing. I am posting it again because I still feel like Deej isn't. Edit: Deez Nuts will be my undoing.
-
Have you seen his podcast about what he does he works his ass off it is a big game and takes a lot of work
-
Do you really think anyone from Bungie dares to say anything since the Luke Smith debacle? I'd be surprised if they're ever let out of the cages again!
-
I use to think yes. Then no, possibly because of how toxic the community is. But now I realize it doesn't matter how toxic we are, it's his job regardless. So no, he doesn't do his job.
-
DeeJ is more of a sales guy now than a community manager. He was more vocal before xmas, but has remained silent since then.
-
Seeing as he hasn't been fired, it's pretty clear that Bungie is fine with his work, so I don't know exactly what his "job" is anymore. That being said, I find it hard to imagine he can't find time in the day to deal with the community on a more daily basis. Be it YouTube video updates, forum posts, or more articles about ANYTHING Destiny related. So, in short...he does his job, but just the parts he has to. He doesn't go the extra mile. The question I really want to know is, is he allowed to do anything more, or is he exclusively a talking head for Bungie? I feel he is more the latter.
-
No. Name one thing community related that he has managed? All I ever see him or hear him do is advertising for DLC releases. Or leave backhanded comments. Regardless of how "toxic" some ppl are it's still a paying job. I deal with "toxic" customers all day. I still have to respond and interact with them.
-
I miss Frankie.
-
He watches from the shadow, and wants to experience the community as it is. Because when he responds to comments, everyone treats the post differently
-
He's on reddit and stuff
-
I remember when Destiny first launched, Deej was almost on every post, now I only see him in the weekly update.
-
Anyone who voted "Yes" has Down's Syndrome.
-
He's doing his job just fine...he's just a crappy person.
-
Deej is the White House Press Secretary for Bungie/Activision. He is pure damage control. The guy is hardly on the forums and barely plays the game despite all his posturing about being this huge Bungie Halo/Destiny guy. He is without question one of the worst community managers in the history of gaming and gaming forums.
-
Honestly it's his job to be on these forums, is it too much to ask for him to respond to the highest rated posts or some on the trending pages? Like what is he getting paid to do?
-
Yea Deej barley does his job. He's supposed to talk to us, but he only does it like 2 times a month.
-
Edited by The Woolldozer: 7/7/2015 1:59:09 PMI tend to agree, but I think all Bungie employees should be more vocal. That's what got Luke Smith into such hot water. If you only talk once every 3 months, your words are going to be under a microscope. It's a microcosm of a larger issue. I don't think Bungie even really plays their own game. Look at their demo videos they make. They walk around like it's the first time they've picked up a shooter let alone their own creation.
