And this is not a pro tournament. Participation is voluntary. Make the game too exclusionary and no one will show up to play. The best will get all the rewards and get bored. Everyone else will slowly be rendered unable to compete.

  • They cater by sucking my passage coins as I don't lose? Can't get any more from lighthouse chest. So they are slowly catering for scrubs

  • No. They are preserving the viability of the play mode, Since so many who go 9-and-0 feel compelled to go BACK into the week's competition and affecting the outcome of other team's passages. Like I said. Make it so that no one but a small handful of people see any benefit in participating in an event....they will eventually stop showing up to play. People have bettier things to do than to be bit-players in other people's ego-driven dramas. IOW, People aren't going to keep showing up just to be cannon-fodder for the "elite"....and those who bascially play this game professionally like streamers and YouTubers. Remember, the rich only keep their wealth through the consent of the poor and the middle-class. The elite only keep their "elite" status, if the average keep showing up to play.

  • My brother and I final made our 9-0 run this week. We then agreed that trials is done and we have no urge to enter that tryhard fest again. I definitely won't be trying for another flawless run. Yes I still want a void Scout rifle but it'll wait till they release one from a pve activity. You know. ... The reason most of us bought this game. Only time I'll go back in trials will be to buy a Messenger next time he sells it because that gun seems to wreck in pvp.

  • I made a similar decision after the first week. Between the sharp upspike I've seen in disconnects since HoWs dropped (problems I've never had before with Destiny, and don't have with any other game), the cheating, and the way Bungie has structure Trials such that a random disconnect counts as a loss.... ....I decided that it just wasn't worth the effort. ...and the toxic turn that the has taken with the obsession over "flawless runs" has only strengthened my decision. I just don't need the headache or the grief. I play this game to get away from a stressful, high-stakes job. I don't need that stress following me into the game. I play this game for fun and relaxation.
