Thorn Haters Vs. Thorn Users
If so many people hate Thorn, then why is Thorn still prevalent in Crucible?
Edit: I'm not here to start a discussion on whether or not Thorn should be nerfed. So please, set the nerf Thorn stuff aside.

9 RepliesHard to compete on the smaller maps without an exotic hand cannon if lots of people are using them. Thorn is the most versatile and the easiest to get (no RNG). But XBox players bitching about Thorn are in for a rude awakening when Hawkmoon starts showing up in your games.

SUROS Regime can still wreck Thorn. Thorn users are lazy and flail that gun around hoping the poison will do the work for them. Usually that is what gets them killed. It isn't the weapon to end all weapons. Red Death also works just fine in skilled hands. Thorn does to players what grandma does when you visit, spoils the player until they realize using anything else just doesn't feel right. I know, I have Thorn too and I'm not a good player in general but with Thorn it just feels... like you're cheating somehow.

Playing against an op weapon like thorn can actually make you a better player. You use cover more often and crouch a lot while using strategy and being more tactical. Know the map and your lines of sight. As soon as you get poisoned take cover. Its not unbeatable. Plus its going to be nerfed soon anyways so enjoy using it while it has its time in the sun like suros did

I use shadow price. I like a challenge , after I saw Ghorn drop for some one with the least amount of kills it made me believe in RNGesus. I don't clean up in PVP but normally get top 3, crucible isn't that serious too me it's supposed to be fun so I keep it fun by doing that. Just my 2 cents.

4 RepliesI only use thorn because crucible is so trashed now and thorn is literally the only gun to use and basically everything else is just there to look at... When was the last time you played with somebody on Pve that used thorn because it was good... Never

Ran thorn for a bit, but I have came to love my bad juju, and red death. Idk just seems like a better option if you get headshots. The range on the thorn/handcannons will be reduced in the next few months before TTK

I can beat thorn. After all I have to because every game I run into it. I've be running legendary primaries in all pvp activities except trials and I do good enough for not using an exotic.

It's still prevent because people will use the easiest weapon to get kills with. I can just walk out of spawn and be getting sniped by a thorn and almost killed with two shots and then the poison finishes me off... This is at a spawn where they are across the map. The gun is pathetic and constant user are even worse.

Because it's so strong? I hate thorn, but it's not going to stop people from using it against me, so might as well use it too until something is done about it.

I use Thorn because A) it puts me in an even playing field with other Thorn users B) I earned it C) It looks amazing D)It feels amazing.

I think the range definitely needs to be lowered on the thorn and tlw. The burn effect on the thorn shouldn't kill you and it should do less damage. Just my opinion
