I read that year 1 weapons wont be viable in TTK. imo this is yet another stupid decision.
We need some clarity on this subject deej.
If this is infact true im personally not going to get TTK and im sure im not alone in this.
Fyi nobody likes an endless grind, all that time invested for your hard earned gear to be rendered obsolete.
Stop trying to screw us over bungie ur already on thin ice. We are not just cows u can milk for cash.....that redbull debacle is another display of what u think of your community/income.

They won't clarify anything. They want gullible players to purchase TTK. It happened when TDB dropped. Our old weapons became obsolete. Bungie didn't divulge their plans until it was too late. Best policy would be to wait until the expansion comes out and if you agree with the changes they made, purchase the expansion.
-
Likely they'll make it so a couple DLC's from now after everyone has deleted them you can upgrade them then. Make everyone redo all the old content again.
-
I really don't want to grind out for another gally or a fatebringer or anything else.
-
Legendary,ok i can live with that. But exotic?NO
-
I totally understand what you mean , but i think and this is my opinion about the matter , that at some point we need to move . I know there is a lot of collectors out there and i totally understand that people have grown attached to their favorite weapons . But would you really want to have like lets say a 150 weapons in your vault just to have somthing to look at now and then . And wouldnt it be boring if people were using the Fatebringer like 4 years from now . Maybe they should have Diablos loot system were gradually find better weapons and armor then you dismantle that armor or weapons because you find better gear . Again i wanna stress this just my opinion .

If we cant bring bring gear forward then the raids become useless. But apparently bungie thinks it would be boring to keep our weapons for 10 years. I think it'll be a real step backwards if they make us get rid of all our gear
-
If they clarify everything then there is nothing to keep you talking until the next dlc, and they desperately need you to keep talking about it to keep people interested

Every MMO makes the previous expansion weapons/gear obsolete. Is the nature of the game. It levels out the playing field and encourages players to tell another story of how they got the new stuff. This also helps ghorn elitist get off their high horse and make room for new fun weapons to use. In other words, gives the game a fresh start.
-
Bungie should make a decision to make all previous weapons obsolete. The players themselves should decide which weapons they want and don't want.
-
Wouldn't this make all raids obsolete? Think about it. This means that all the content from the launch of the game, along with both DLCs, will become obsolete. That's a good portion of the game that they're basically making useless. Maybe I've missed something, but somehow that doesn't seem right.
-
Agreed, this is starting to bug me a little. My idea of an expansion is to take what we've learned and gathered in the base game, and then apply those skills and resources to an entirely different scenario, possibly picking up new gear along the way. Bungie, on the other hand, just keep turning round with 'well, the endless grind is what we think keeps people playing, so let's force players to stay on the hamster wheel. I'm sure they'll love that'. No. Gear replacement should be an optional endeavour, based on your needs and play style. Not 'right you're collecting this now. £40 please'.
-
Bungie is their own worst enemy at this point, it makes me wonder how much of the Halo magic was actually Microsoft guiding them.
-
Who farted in the elevator? Of course you won't get a honest answer until TTK drops, or when the elevator door opens. Right now they're stuck smelling the fart with you, because they don't have your money yet. Deej has a red face and is trying not to laugh.

leave that here for ya all to ponder about

Think about how much sense it would make to make ps4 exclusive exotic weapons available from year one to Xbox users but automatically make them obsolete. Imagine those people who have never received a gjallarhorn and haven't yet experienced its full glory. There's no way they're gonna make our weapons obsolete. They're excited to talk about our existing gear. It's gotta be a new ascension system
-
Exotics will likely continue on but legendaries will probably be bound for the recycling bin. Since they seem to think level advantages are more competitive for some unfathomable reason thy will likely only be useful for low difficulty and regular crucible after taken King.
-
This happens everytime in MMOs but I do agree that Destiny shouldn't be doing this with weapons.
-
I thought it would do it automatically cuass it says one year but if what you say is true and yet again we if to use exotic shards to upgrade it piss off some people not me I got 67 shards so what just help me get rid of some which I got from mass engram buying and still not getting the new armour.
-
They won't give much info because they are rightfully concerned that it could hurt sales. Bungie doesn't want you as a consumer to realize that you have been screwed until after you have bought the DLC. Then they can worry about tricking you into the next one later. lol
-
It's simple for me. I wait until taken king is out. If I can't upgrade my stuff I'm not buying. The whole statement printed on gun screens scares me "the guns can only be updated to year one stats." If that's the case I'll play what I have until I'm totally sick and can't even look at destiny. Then move on to fallout 4.

And I read that everything you read on the internet isn't true so there, put that in your pipe and smoke it. Is it that difficult for you and all these others demanding immediate answers to wait for solid info? Bungie has stated that they'll be giving us weekly updates on TTK. Let's be patient and see what info they put out and in the meantime keep your money firmly in your pocket until you hear something official that makes or breaks the deal for you.

Edited by Octopus: 7/5/2015 11:01:05 AMi already decided NOT to buy TTK anymore, when i read the word "re-imagined", or saw the new enemies that are the same as ever, but with only taken their color away...very bold, as i believe that this is even more lazy then simply re-color them^^ and the prize...omg, the prize...so much money to play the same as ever, with the only question left, where the starting points now will be^^ and if the y1 guns truly get obsolete, which i don't want to believe and somehow doubt, what is the idea behind it? grind the hell out of this game for y1 guns, to see them becoming obsolete...then do the same for y2 guns with the knowledge they'll become obsolete when y3 guns come? i'm sry, but my reasonable mind wouldn't allow me to act like that, acting like a total retarded stupid...i guess the retards are bungie or maybe simply outrageous and disrespectful....but, however, the most sad thing is that most on here, yes, YOU, the stupids will give them the right to do, as YOU will buy it for sure...only babbling doesn't help guys, it's your wallets that you should kept close to tell them what you think about this insult...btw, never saw such a crappy company before in the whole gaming-industry....as most are ADDING new stuff and NOT replacing them...if this is what they think, a good way to refresh stuff, then i say go to hell! so much money from this game, sold record-like, but still the most greediest -blam!-s on the market? gtfo and go to hell bungievision! just imho

well they wont be obsolete right away. think of it this way Fatebringer was and still is one of the best hand cannons in the game for PVE it wont become useless the moment TTK drops it simply goes back to the same standing as when Crota's End dropped having a lower attack value then current weapons. And if they dont let you upgrade Exotics well lets just say 99% of the Day one players still playing will walk i doubt bungie is that stupid
