Weapon reforging defeated the point of Iron Banner
Now that you can reforge weapons and hit max level with any gear, what's the point of Iron Banner?
Most Iron Banner primaries are crap anyway, Ash Factory is almost the same as Radegasts and Party Crasher is better than Felwinter's (that's my opinion. Deal with it)
So why do people still play? Most people have a surplus of Etheric Light, the new gear is the only reason I grinded then stopped.
With the current state of crucible, I'm not exactly eager to play how I once was.
What do you guys think?
Edit: BusyBadger made a really good point saying that Iron Banner weapons should be allowed to get old weapon perks except for the chance of rolling Final Round into the Spear.
Edit 2: After reading the comments, looks like most people are after the Etheric Light. Unfortunately I'm one of those who no longer need anymore. Also, a favourite from the Crowd is Gheleon's Demise but I don't think I'll use that over my Scholar.

1 ReplyI like having the levels enabled, I feel I can get a better kill streak going. EL is also nice. Also, IB armor really looks nice especially compared to PoE stuff. Just wish thy would make IB light level 42 without having to ascend it. ToO is still the best looking, but I just am a scrub when it comes to that and getting sniped from across the map all the time.

5 Repliesnot sure why they didn't drop all IB guns like last time. I already have all the IB guns so etheric light was the only reason to do it, also the bounties have a lot of XP to level armor or guns if you want. They need to do something like maybe once you reach rank 5 you can re-roll with just 2 motes of light like the old days. I am always out of weapon parts now and farming glimmer to pull the slot machine handle at the gunsmith.

I agree. They should add armor reforging for iron banner. I have no reason to play this game type anymore, other than to get red bar games every other 15 minutes.

1 ReplyReforging shouldn't just be an advantage privileged to a few weapons solely obtained through PVP. Seeing as PVE is still the largest aspect of this game and many people dislike PVP as well.

9 RepliesI just recently found out that you can get E-Light from Saladin. I never even bother with Iron Banner most of the time, seeing as how I pretty much hate PvP. Needless to say, as soon as I found out about it, I made it my mission to get as much light from Iron Banner as I could. I managed to grind rank 3 out in about a day's worth of play time. It was fu¢king awful, but I pushed on and made it through. When I got to rank 3, I was stoked; I had saved up 25000 Glimmer, and for whatever reason, thought I'd be able to get as much E-Light as I could afford. Boy, was I ever wrong! You can buy one. And then they make you keep playing in order to get any more. [i]They make you play for another two whole ranks before you can buy another single E-Light.[/i] Did you know that? I didn't. I was simultaneously and instantaneously heartbroken and completely fu¢king enraged. I thought, "Finally I'll be able to make some real progress on upgrading my Legendaries!". Nope. Gotta play another two ranks before you begin to do anything really useful to your character. It'll be a long time before I step into Iron Banner again for anything more than the lulz. Fu¢k all that noise.

For the fun of it just like people still run strikes, patrols, raids , arena. Just because your maxed level doesn't mean your done. If you feel that way that's fine just don't play it. At the moment I have 3 sets of arena, vog and crota gear all maxed out. Now I'm maxing out some faction and vendor gear along with weapons for fun.

The weirdest part is my OG spear and felwinters can still reroll with old perks. I have two spears and they are always getting rerolled whenever I need them in a different element. (Yes mine have final round, but I never waste shots)

I just started a Warlock last Sunday and needed the gauntlets to raise my level - it doesn't hurt that they look pretty decent. I think that it would be awesome if they allowed us to pick between the old gear and the new gear - I am not a fan of most of the new IB/Vanguard/Crucible gear.

Yes totally agree weapon reforming was the worst idea they ever. Had imo before you wanted that one gun to drop and drop with good perks !!! When it did it was like wow and now you just reforge everything ib was the best because harder to get them Guns and you can reforge them !!! Now they are just same as everything else !!! Ib you should be able to reforge armour imo
