There is no "Rarest" gun. each person's drops have factors played through it: how many people are playing, how many times have you completed the activity etc... The more people you play with the less of a chance you'll get what you want, the amount of run-throughs of an activity you have the more rolls you have throughout your play time. What might be rare to you is common for someone else. RNG
The more people you play with the less of a chance you'll get what you want
Not sure how you came to this conclusion, or are just saying it seems this way.
-
RnG is simply a computer. The more people: the more awards that need to come out. Overloading it basically
RnG is simply a computer. The more people: the more awards that need to come out. Overloading it basically
I get that, but it's not a limited pool. For example, there are two separate pools: a nickel and quarter for you to randomly get, and there is a nickel and quarter for me to get. Your chances/presence/result doesn't affect mine.
-
Edited by NsomniaCam: 7/4/2015 3:09:05 PMHow did you come to that conclusion. I'm not saying there is only "x" amount of Gjallahorns to give out I'm saying playing with more players confuses the computer
-
Ok you should punch whoever told you this. It is so patently untrue.
-
And why do you say that.
-
Because each calculation is done on a player player basis and unless they are running a Windows ME server, running that same calculation six times simultaneously will cause NO trouble. At all. You can probably do it on your computer without any noticeable slow down.
-
"Probably"
-
I don't know the calculation they are performing, nor the hardware they run it on. I can only assume. But that is also akin to assuming I'm breathing oxygen right now instead of poison. The land lord might be trying to kill me, but common sense and logic tell me I am fine. Tl;dr stop lying to people prick
-
How am I lying
-
You're lying because you have no idea what the processing power of their equipment is (although it is likely incredible) and you have no idea how much processing power the calculation takes (although it is likely minimal) and you are telling people that the more players you have in a raid situation, the more screwy the drop rate is because the "computer is overloading" and that doesn't even make any SENSE.
-
Maybe if you think outside the box just a little, and stop being so narrow minded. You would see what I am talking about. Have you ever wanted something, and somebody else get it? I sure have, my friends sure have. Don't you think: even for a SECOND that reward was for you? I sure have. Computers overload everyday. Hence LAG. Too much Internet traffic trying to go through one portal.
-
The problem is that network lag will have NO BEARING on the calculation. They are all done server side. If boss x is defeated (doesn't matter how many people are playing) run Calculation Y. The process call is simple, the math is almost certainly not hard, and the hardest part will be cloning an object and putting it into memory/a database referencing your character--- something done after is it decided what you get. Let me help you make your own argument, since you don't have the computer knowledge to do it yourself: random number generators aren't actually random. They base things off a certain variable that can be calculated but we will never know about. If that variable is a millisecond times a flag identifier in your character, than if there is network lag, that millisecond will be different and you will get a different item. But given hundreds if not thousands of people are raising and getting items at the same time, plus with the power of these high end servers, people are still going to laugh at you it you suggest that bringing your buddy along is going to affect your chance at a Ghorn.
-
Pretty condescending. So much for being friendly. You're right I'm wrong I'll take my associates somewhere else.
-
Of course I don't. The simple fact that I am not a bungie employee is a giveaway. Of course your opinion is "correct". I like having friendly debates. There's logic behind my thinking, and it is not coming out of my ass. Who are you to tell me I am wrong?
-
I am a Network Administrator of a Fortune 500 company who graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology. And I am telling you that what you are saying is either willfully ignorant or egregiously fabricated. Don't be a dick, stop telling lies to people.
-
Yes sir
-
How did you come to that conclusion
Fair enough. I guessed. I have seen two people get the same gun, though. But how did you come to the conclusion that there is one pool with one item each?
-
Each player has a predetermined pool of items every time they start an activity
-
Edited by Mr Goodkat: 7/4/2015 4:52:19 PM
Each player has a predetermined pool of items every time they start an activity
That I can see. Bungie hinted at the pool being adjusted during Crota's End to give you stuff you don't have already. So if you want another Black Hammer, vault the one you got and have other Crota raid gear with you to maximize your chances. But where are you getting the "more players with you means less chance of what you want?" This goes against Bungie's desire/goal to have a bunch of people playing together since Destiny is a multi player fame, and raids and strikes are designed to be played in fireteams, not soloed.
-
You are totally right. It makes it more complicated if you have more people
-
I've played a shit ton tho
-
It doesn't increase your chances. it repeats them
