Hey bungee I'm sick of using thorn!
Dear bungee,
I have so many great weapons like my mytho last that I miss my Suros but I can't use them every time I get into a crucible game I'm forced to use my thorn handgun because that's all I'm up against please help me

I've been doing quite well with my warlock with the Jewel of Osiris and Messenger. My titan has been doing well with the Last Word, Suros, and Vex. My hunter had been doing great with Mida. You don't need to use thorn to do well. You've merely allowed a balanced gun to get into your head and change your perception.

Bump. Bungie. Do you see we've had enough of this yet? Do you even care? How many posts do we have to start to show you the hand cannons and especially this one are out of balance!! This is such an easy fix too, it should be done in a week or 2 tops

1 ReplyYea, I use Thorn because it seems like it does the same damage at 150 yards as it does at 10 F'n yards. Look at how bungie made auto rifles and shotguns taper off with long distance hits. Thorn has a veeeeeery long effective range, and is the only gun in the entire game with DPS! How is that not op? Super OP for it to have that long of an effective range with DPS! I use it EXACTLY like a scout rifle, and usually take out long distance scout rifle users. No high end hand cannon should have more effective range than a high end scout rifle. Makes no sense. I often use a Vision of Confluence in pvp with greeeeat success. But I can still get out gunned by long range thorn users sometimes. Which doesn't make sense to me. Solution : Drop the effective range of thorn and maybe even all hand cannons. Or bump up the effective range of auto rifles and scout rifles a bit.

2 RepliesEdited by MelodicMonsta: 7/4/2015 2:28:53 PMTips 55 Allfate Hopscotch Pilgrim Spare Change .25 upgrade them to 365 with good rolls and you will see what I'm talking about. I use Allfate with Outlaw and Reactive Reload at 365 with hand laid stock. It's a beast roll and it's not easy to get that but hey you could try.

Mythoclast is better than all the autos. You can still use it. Other options are messenger, praydeth's timepiece, over soul edict, universal remote, or mida multi tool.

For example: I can beat Thorn users with a Monte Carlo on my brothers Ps4 account in activities like rumble. My Jewel of Osiris actually has better stats than a Thorn too.

I get killed more by hawkmoons than thorns, thorns seldom kill me so i really don't see the problem. Now lagging is another ball game today i shot a guy 5 times with thorn & meleed him twice & he lost no life at all, now that is a prob

I'm not Bungie, nor do I represent them, but here's a list of the primary weapons I've used in the last month in the Crucible to the best of my memory: Suros Regime Vex Mythoclast Hard Light Silimar's Wrath Vision of Confluence Gheleon's Demise The Last Word Word of Crota Deadshot Luna Her Right Hand 55 AllFate .25 Spare Change Monte Carlo And, yes, in 2 matches I pulled out the Thorn, just to see if it was an overpowered killing machine. It's not. So, nobody is "forcing" you to use Thorn, and there are a lot of other weapons out there. There are a lot of hand cannons, it's true, but there are a lot of other weapons as well. I have an overall winning record, not the best K/D, but it satisfies me. So, to reiterate, you choose to use Thorn. You're not forced.
