Thorn gun quest
I am on the pvp part of the thorns questline where i have to get 250 void damage player kill. I was wondering if there happened to be an easier way to go about that then just going into matches bashing my head against the wall with a sniper rifle with void damage( as it is my only decent void gun.And i have the quest on my hunter so can use super for void damage) If anyone knows a better way please let me know.

If you have it from the Crota raid, I suggest the Swordbreaker. It comes by default Void, and is a shotgun. Whith the buff on the shotguns from the weapon update, if you have it or get it, it will help in this. I would also try rerolling a shotgun that has elemental damage until it gets void. If you are lucky enough to get shot package during the reroll, that will help immensly. In terms of primary. Try Aetheons Epilogue fully upgraded. Don't ascend it unless you intend on using it in VoG. The default max should be good in this case. The continuos void should get at least a couple kills. In terms of heavy. Try rerolling machine guns and rocket launchers (i suggest machine gun as unless the rocket has tracking the person can jump/get out of the way if he spots it. Machine guns you can choose when to shoot and thus get more) until void, as they tend to come with Arc by default (the ones Ive gotten from HoW have). Once that is done you will have a void setup and will be unloading void masses out like crazy. You should be able to get the void part done after this.

I used word of crota, secret handshake and corrective measure and was able to bang out the crucible part in about 3 hours

Camp and play for kills, not to win the match. And I would use blink and just try to be invisible as much as I can.

I know this seems like a noob move. But I had great results with camping. Just play really defensively. If you run out all guns ablazing, your going to die.

My alternative is to use Atheons Epilogue as a drop from Atheon In the vault of glass or using The Word of Crota, a hand cannon dropped from Crota in the Hard mode Crota's End raid

Edited by Sven: 7/3/2015 3:20:04 AMIf you have a shotgun from DLC II (I believe only DLC II, correct me if I'm wrong) equip it and go to the gunsmith In the tower to re-roll it...basically when you re-roll it you can change the element on it, as well as its perks, re-rolling costs around 10 weapon parts, a mote of light and a couple hundred glimmer each time, and is irreversible. What I recommend for the 500 kills with void is finding a legendary rarity shotgun, re-rolling until getting a void burn, and then finish the bounty from there on out. If you don't have a shotgun the you can buy one from the crucible / vanguard quartermaster for 150 or so marks at level 3. What i did in that bounty was grinded out crucible games until I got the party crasher + 1 and the Madator 64 as drops from the crucible (both shotguns) and I re-rolled until I got decent perks, then I did the bounty for about 2 hours or so in the crucible. I hoped this helped you out, and if it's all stuff you already knew, well then I wish I could give more advice.

1 ReplySeeing as you are on your Hunter, I cannot have any real tips for you other than to run a Void Heavy, Special and Primary. If you have the Corrective Measure (VoG Normal and Hard Gatekeeper Drop) I strongly recommend this for your heavy. If you are a high enough level to run Hard Crota's End, I would suggest going for the Word of Crota. My only tips are stay safe, be patient, and get the heavy as that nets a lot of kills.

1 ReplyI'm not good at crucible so this was also difficult for me. I recommend you play it safe and stay near teammates. I don't think assists count so you need to make sure you get the kills. I got mine with using corrective measure and peruns fire. If you don't have any good void secondaries you can always reroll guns. The main thing to remember is play it safe and don't get to aggressive or you'll start losing points.

Shotguns are much easier, quicker. If don't have one, I recommend buying it. If you have the marks from crucible or vanguard, use it. Good luck guardian!
