Guys, never put up with harassment or abuse online. Why? Because you don't have to.
Last night I was playing with my normal squad in iron banner. I'm running my new warlock, and doing fairly decent considering I'm level 30. Problem was, it wasn't me dragging the team down, it was two of our guys that thought it would be a good idea to use NLB and rack up those iron medallions.
After 4 matches of this, and them pulling around .39 kd's, I said something about it. One of them snapped, worse than he normally does, and an exchange begins. In the process of me explaining why the NLB shouldn't be used by them anymore he calls me a f'ing -blam!-. (F word in relation to homosexuals)
Now here's the deal, everyone that plays with me knows I have a major issue with that word. It has to do with having a brother who is a gay man, and everything we went through for the first few years after he came out. They know that's the line you just don't cross with me.
The asshat that said it (who I do know irl, and who will catch an ass beating if I see him) has been removed from everything in my social world. He lost a good friend.
Don't put up with shit guys. It's a game, and there is no reason to take being broken down or purposely hurt by people who say they are friends. Find new ones.
I know there will be trolls, and I give no shits. I needed to express to the community for many guardians who needed to hear this.
Edit: for those of you lending support, thanks. For those of you saying "teen drama it's just a word," it's far more than that. He took a jab at me and in turn my family. There are things about him I could do the same, but I dont. There are lines you don't cross.

We're clearly different types of people. I for one wouldn't give a damn about that word (or any word actually), nor give a damn about someone using NLB if they feel like it. But that's not the point at all. They crossed a very clear line. A line everyone has. For some it's harder and for some it's easier to cross it. And I can understand that if you play with a squad you're playing seriously, not to mess around with NLB. So yeah, good you cut him off from everything before it turned out to get worse. Be the bigger man and throw him out of your life.

I don't think you brother is the only gay in the family. Truth hurts!

I just want to say gives new meaning to butt thirst omg I meant to type butthurt but it auto corrected to butt thirst so that's hilarious
-
If he is proud to be gay then you and him should not be offended by that word. It's that simple.
-
Just refuse to address him as anything but 'bigot' or 'homophobe', and do it loudly. He'll become undatable to the best and mediocre women in your peer group in no time.
-
TD:LR: A guy I pissed off called me fag, and my brother is gay so I kicked him and defriended him because he was totally offending my brother.
-
3 Repliesyou did the right thing. Even though I'm probably a lot younger than you I'm still proud of you for standing up for your brother like that. I also hate it when people use that word, especially for no reason. Why is it considered an insult to call someone gay? "Hey Jim, you're gay" "Uh, ok...? And I'm supposed to be offended?" Btw, you guys must be really happy about the recent ruling! Congrats!

If this "friend" knew about your brother and still called you that word, then he isn't someone you should want to be friends with. My support goes out to you. One of the key members of my clan is lesbian. We are made up of different races, cultures, nationalities, sexualities, and gender identities. If you're ever looking for a friendly clan who accepts all people, hit us up.

1 ReplyEdited by JewEysWiteDragn: 7/6/2015 10:30:29 PMOkay I'm sorry your brother is gay and everything but -blam!- is a word that can be thrown around and if being gay isn't that bad why is being called a -blam!- a horrible crime? I'm not against gays or anything but you gotta be a little less butt-hurt than that, grow a pair dude. I'm mostly saying this cause I thought it was something actually important like someone just died but this?? No thanks

12 RepliesDid anyone else click this thinking someone died?

It's just a word! I've literally been hearing homosexuals calling out to each other like "what's up my -blam!-" same was as people say "what's up my -blam!-" lol
-
Hahahahaha
-
Don't do anything to him. Find out what's going on with him. Perhaps there's something going down in his life, I don't know. My point is, don't overreact! Be proactive, not reactive! You don't need/want any more problems than you already have. Laterz! :D

Told someone off like this before whenbhe kept screwing with the captures trying to cap all three flags and the next game he was our opponent lets just say he was slaughtered unmercilessly by my fang of ir yut and hawkmoon

1 ReplyI'm sorry this had to happen, losing a close friend (which in your case isn't what he is now wholy considered) really hirts. If you want someone you can trust, add me. Gt is my username.

OP: make edit at top with TLDR: No one died.
-
Trust me. The people you think are your closest friends are also your closest enemies...
-
Did you call the police? Seriously dude, you should press charges. Someone called you a name in the internet, this is serious!
-
I use the NLB all the time and im starting to get good with it, dont give up and dont let other people tell you what guns you can and cannot use.
-
It is just a word and shouldn't matter if he was a random. But as a friend who knows you have a line in the sand he purposely crossed that line so therefore its not about the word anymore its about him using something he knows will get to you and the reasons why. This is the dick move more so than the word. Better off without him 😉

Yea in real life I'm surrounded by homophobes especially at school and it absolutely sucks how little respect and dignity they have
