ha I use voc a lot in ib and do really good for the most part it's all about not getting to close for the shotty thorn combo

Voc actually wrecks in pvp. I use it in trials on the heavy round. Love it.

trials you have to use thorn or tlw or red death pretty much the only viable options to many thorn try hards
