Alright, since people don't understand how minimum wage works. Phoenix minimum wage: $7.90 New York minimum wage: $8.75 1 adult ticket for ted 2 at an AMC theater Phoenix: $7.57 New York: $17.49 Funny thing is if i plug them into an online converter, the New York ticket still is $9.98 more expensive. The hire standard of living means prices go up. Simple as that

  • If that's that simple, someone in New York should pay more for TTK than someone in Phoenix, right? Is that the case?

  • Inflation does not go up across the board evenly in all areas. It also doesn't change evenly based on products. In cases like DVD's and video games, those usually have a suggested retail price that is generally met. That retail price is based on the national minimum wage, not state or local.

no, that would not be the case. unlike the analogy used, the AMC theater only has to compete in prices for customers with other theaters in its surrounding area. Retail games sales are not only competing in the local customer market places but the national market place also, so the pricing is more standarized and less varied. WHich the point he is making, in general the UK pays about 15 percent more for cost of living and consumers goods than here in america.

  • Well I understand stuff is usually more expensive in the UK. What I really don't get is why it's only affecting this game. I've never seen such a huge difference between US and UK (and EU, and AU, and NZ....) with any pther game or DLC.

i've seen this complaint for other games in other forums personally. I would have to research though to find an actual example but i'm sure this is not the first time nor the last time this topic comes up.

  • According to his logic, actual logic does not apply.

  • There is a combination of reasons why it does what it does. It has to do with a nice mix of currency conversion and minimum wage, and knowing that it's easier to change the "suggested retail price" based on countries, and not based on each state.
