Is it worth farming IB for weapons?
Is the HoW Felwinter's and Efrideet's even worth farming for now that you can't roll shotpackage, hanmerforged and final round on them? It's kinda unfair for us new crucible players who didn't like crucible when IB first came out. I got the game in October and I wish I played crucible earlier.
EDIT: I didn't know that you can still roll shotpackage on Felwinter's, I saw it on a thread and I went off that.

8 RepliesI'm positive all these legendaries are going in the garbage when ttk comes. I personally can't wait. The new legendaries will look so cool, have brands that have predictable characteristics, and awesome new perks that'll add depth to gameplay. Death to old perks that are one dimensional and are simply being abused right now. I'm looking at you shot package, and final round snipers. Just extending the range of your shotgun or reducing pellet spread is dumb. Quit changing what makes a shotgun a shotgun by removing all the downsides. You remove counterplay. Final round snipers shouldn't be a one hit kill on the foot. Let's be real. You take away the skill of a head shot by having this perk available on the sniper. Final rounding should be a hot fix issue as I'm positive shooting 3 rounds into the wall and using the last round in ToO to peg the foot of someone for a cheesy advantage wasn't the design intention.

No. The advantage of IB is that (for the most part) you get good weapons...that you can reforge...and you bet multiple ones in a weeks time. Rather than having to grind for two weeks like with a typical vendor weapon. If you are picky about which one's you go for, you can get some really great gear. My OG Felwinter's and my Ghelion's Demises with Outlaw and Firefly still see a LOT of use. As do my Efrideet's Spears and Jolder's Hammers. But with HoWs if you simply want gear----and don't like playing PvP----there are other ways.

Timurs is the only IB gun worth grinding for in my opinion. The other IB weapons have identical or better HoW weapon cousins, but the only thing close to timurs lash is the ill will, which doesn't compare.

Not really unless you like the way they look. You can get weapons that are just as good. Black Hammer has the same impact as the Spear for example.

IMO, no. It was cool when they first came out because they were the only weapons you could re-roll and Felwinters was a beast. Regular post-HoW crucible drops better weapons now. PC+1, Matador, & BTRD, Ash Factory, Low-Grade Humility all have better base stats than IB weapons. Plus the only Queen's gun that is good, Her Benevolence is better than the current [i]non-last round[/i] Spear.

2 RepliesIronBanner weapons are less special not that everything can be rerolled but they are all very useful if they compliment your play stile. I would say get one of each weapon that you like because who knows what weapons will be like after TTK. HammerForged is the perk that can no longer be rolled on shotguns. Final Round and Fieldscout are no longer available for sniper rifles. I believe PlanetDestiny YouTube is where I saw the perk tables listed in detail. Radeghasts Fury is absolutely worth it if you haven't gotten an AshFactory.

1. Final round is for lepers 2. You can roll shot package on all shotguns. Hammer forged is the perk that has been removed.

3 RepliesEdited by bantutpwet: 6/30/2015 6:54:31 PMIB is still fun regardless if you're farming for weapons. you can still roll shot package on a felwinters and we don't even know if efrideet's is in this week's IB loot table (it wasn't there last event or it was just super rare to get). Just because it doesn't have final round doesn't mean it'll be bad. The Efrideet's is one of the highest impact snipers around and i'm pretty sure it'll be good with hidden hand and unflinching for new perks. I'll be farming for that spear this week.
