I Don't Want Auto Rifles Buffed in PvP, Here's Why.

Every day on the forums, I tend to see a lot of "buff auto rifles" threads. Aswell as "nerf thorn" threads and other stuff. What I would eventually like to happen is to not buff auto rifles, but to nerf EVERYTHING ELSE (for the most part) The time to kill in this game is quickly becoming like Cod, where gunfights are almost instant. That's not what I want for this game. I want it to be a nice middle ground between Cod and Halo. Where gunfights take 2 or 3 seconds instead of 0.5 to 1. Here's what I think they should do for PvP only! Weapons Nerf Handcannon impact across the board. Nerf Exotic Handcannons range. Nerf Thorn's DoT so it can't kill you (leave you at one health). Nerf The Last Words accuracy at range. Nerf Pulse rifles impact by a small 2-3%. Nerf range and accuracy on messenger and hopscotch pilgrim esc pulse rifles. (le cri) Nerf shotgun impact and range by a small amount. Remove shot package and rangefinder and replace with another perk that's not quite as powerful. Remove final round on Pre existing snipers and replace with luck in the chamber. (Luck in the chamber will be Rollable on snipers in TTK) Increase amount of ammo picked up by snipers. Grenades Reduce DoT from Touch of Flame/viking funeral. Reduce magnetism on flux/magnet/fusion grenades Reduce cone of effect on lightning grenades Melee's and Abilities Reduce range of warlock melee Decrease shoulder charge auto aim Reduce blink to 1 charge at a time Reduce arc blade duration and auto aim. I could be leaving a bunch of stuff out (it's late) but tell me what you guys think. Tell me in the comments what I missed, or that you don't agree on. Tl;dr: Keep Auto rifles the same, nerf everything else to match auto rifles. Cheers. Edit 1: Removed a few ideas that were a little overkill when paired with other nerf. For example reducing range on firebolt + nerfing touch of flame/viking funeral was a bit much. Edit 2: The haters tears are so delicious, keep em coming ;) Edit3: quite pleased with the response overall. I my ideas aren't perfect, and that's why I asked you guys for your opinions. And if you think all of my ideas are dumb and illogical, I will respect your opinion. BTW I'm Canadian, it's kinda hard for me to be rude :P even to the haters. Edit 4: Well guys, it was fun replying to over 100 comments. I thank you for all the great ideas and input. Most of you guys are awesome. I'm heading out, talk to you guys l8r. Edit 5: Just to make a note, these were all ideas that if we lived in an alternate reality from this one, where bungie could actually make changes to PvP without effecting PvE. Edit 6: I can see A LOT of people are confused at why I don't just want Auto Rifles Buffed, people think it's just such a simple fix, buff auto rifles and we're done. But by simply buffing AR'S were are effectively shortening the Time To Kill, what I was going for was more like the TTK we had in the beta, where 2 head shots with a Handcannon wouldn't InstaGib you. Where gun fights actually lasted for more than a second. I see a lot of people disagree with this core concept and that's fine, what it comes down to is people either want this game to have TTK'S like CoD, or want actually skilled engagements (like me)

 • I actually agree, TTK has reduced so much with hand cannons, it's a case of who shoots first. The current state of ARs are perfect TTK for PvP and other weapons should be balanced to the level of ARs, it would make gunfights more interesting.
