Is thorn a cheap weapon or a skilled weapon
I personally hate the thorn it needs a nerf but tell me what you think

It's as skilled as any other weapon in the means of you needing to hit someone. But no additional skill is needed to make a kill.

As long as you can get a couple of body shots you can use the damage over time perk to finish them off no real skill needed to use the gun I find the red death helps melt these thorn users

I use last word and thorn and I easily gun down thorn users with last word. I think thorn is cheap but it is not impossible to take down

The thorn is OK where it is I think the range needs to be nerfed and the burn damage should stop if the thorn user dies.

Edited by Sportsfreak5022: 7/5/2015 5:28:55 AMLet's see, a handcannon with the same RoF as the last word, has the range and stability of a scout rifle, and does 35 damage over time for landing any shot, which also prevents any kind of health regeneration for ~10 seconds, has incredible aim assist, and has a consist two headshot kill. Seems cheap to me.

6 RepliesAfter around 15 flawless runs, and going against full teams of thorn almost every single game... I'd say a little of both. It's a gun that helps scrubs do better, and highly skilled players can -blam!-. If the whole team is working together perfectly, it is godlike. If all teammates shoot the same enemy once, they are dead. You can theoretically win a trial round by firing 9 shots per team. Here's the thing though, a highly skilled sniper squad can win a round in 3 shots o'er team. I've faced far more than my fair share of thorn teams, to the point where I don't care to see what people run anymore cause I already know its thorn. Now, on the other hand, if you aren't good with it, it's funny how easily you get killed. There's a lot of people who suck with it, but use it because they think using it will make them good. I love these people cause it's unbelievably easy to kill them with anything and everything. It's the exact same thing with the vex.

It is a cheap weapon that becomes very deadly in skilled hands.

I feel like both. It can be a crutch to bad players but a really accurate person could do well with it and TLW or any hand cannon for that matter. However, I do feel it's annoying that it's so widely used.

It's way too easy to get kills with it, i would'nt say it's a skill gun. Anyone with a decent aim can put in work with a thorn.

It's so overused, every crucible match I join 80% of the players are using thorn.

2 RepliesI think if they scaled the quest with the level cap like they do with everything else, it wouldn't be so cheap. Back when I got mine, it was hard as fu¢k to kill Xyor. I don't know if its still that bad, but I would imagine it's probably pretty easy now that the cap is at 34. Do they scale it, or is it a static mission?

It's just OP. But majority if people use it so I do also. I would love to see the weapons balanced better so we can complain about other things instead. ; )

Thorn is on the cheap side but it takes some adjustments to use it compared to other weapons. TLW also is a bit different from both thorn and other stuff

Thorn is over use in crucible. But not in PvE. My solution to solve Thorn is to nerf it. But not in a huge nerf of something, but a balance nerf. Change the send it perk to speed reload. So no good o'l aim assist. Nerf the range a little bit, so it won't be a sniper hand cannon. ONE IS ENOUGH AND THAT IS THE CockMoon. Nerf the DoT or change it where as it depends on range on the DoT of the burn. Let say I'm across the map, and the Thorn user hit me. It will do less DoT damage, so it won't kill people easily. If the Thorn is how the way it is with 3 warlocks with sunsinger, viking funeral, and fire bolt grenades!? That is Op my friend.

Edited by Humanpudding741: 6/30/2015 5:19:44 PMThorn is OP. The only defense I hear is that it takes skill... really, it takes skill to get critical hits with any gun. Thorn just kills the fastest. If a player using thorn gets all head shots against a player using red death(or any other primary) who also gets all head shots the player using thorn wins every time. Thorn is for scrubs end of story. Also the bounty is NOT hard. It takes a couple hours.
