Yes i have to say Halo CE was BY FAR my favorite. I think bungie made a HUGE mistake adding brutes into the picture. Halo 3 had better game play but the worst story. Fighting on a ring, left for dead trying to survive. Now that's an awesome story but fighting on earth? Oh wow ime fighting on the same planet as any other game. Best game play out of the series but i was looking froward to a ring not a Ball sorry.

The elites in Halo: CE in my opinion were pivotal to the success of Halo as a game. They were fun and challenging to fight, and they looked awesome. Although there was not much background story yet, it didn't matter. The atmosphere created by fighting for a mysterious ring against terrifying aliens provided the necessary hook. The shift in the Halo trilogy from fighting elites to fighting brutes has been the most disappointing aspect of the series for me. Fortunately the quality of game play has drastically improved, along with the addition of other excellent features (forge and theater). These improvements keep me playing Halo. I would gladly welcome back the elites, but I trust Bungie to deliver a great experience like they have with Halo 2 and 3.

Huuuuh. Yet again Bungie degrates the elites honour by saying that they will not be include in the game. Can you guys do anything else to break my heart ;(. You guys should at least make one mission (or flashback) where you happen to have Elites as your ally. I loved the idea at first that the Elites were on our side. I liked them ever since Halo: CE. I really think that Bungies really degrated the Sangheili race right there Sangheili haters!!!!! Even if I have to do it myself I will bring a name to the Sangheili race!!!! All those who agree with me and are willing to work along side me to reach this goal join me!

If the Mythic map pack doesnt come out before March 10th Im done with everything Halo F IT Its Bull-blam!- that us fans have to wait 5 uckin Months for three maps is down right bull-blam!- I said it before Ill blow my microsoft points on Gta4 or Fallout 3 before i have to wait 2 -3 more months. can i reveal info from game informer? if one of the characters name is 'Dutch' as seen before in the movie predator, and said character is the he-manniest, then would it somehow mean we see his face and he looks like arnold? or is bungie gonna be fancy and pull some moves by not showing the non-main characters' faces, or show it to finally give some personality besides voices to masked characters... just thinking. also i can't wait for anything, i love you guys, you always do well.

i am not at all interested in this game and think it's just a quick money making scheme...why don't they talk about the peter jackson project instead??? and maybe that it's going to be about master chiefs journey home and nothing to do with halo (cuz halo is destroyed people!!!)...those tricky bungie bee's and halo is marathon, it's all a remake...that's why there are so many similarities

It's good to hear the Mythic Pack will be a standalone purchase option in "Spring" but that's a pretty large time frame (Spring in the Northern Hemisphere is March 21-June 21). I would also like to know what play lists are going to be available for the Mythic Map Pack. If Swat is there, I might suck it up and buy Halo Wars if the price was reduced. I simply cannot fathom paying $80 for a videogame. Hell, I got Guitar Hero WT for $54 at christmas (Usually $89.99). As of right now Halo Wars is a Halo-no for me. [Edited on 01.24.2009 10:33 AM PST]

I find it sad how Microsoft totally controls everything about Halo. Can't they understand that *fans* are much better at giving suggestions? Because we know what we want, and frankly, looking at stats is a terrible way to determine anything. *When I say "fans" I mean intelligent fans. I also am excluding those who say "Mlg iz kingz" or anything that would result in the unfair making of one weapon dominating everything else. On another note, great update. I hope that we will someday see the pimp brute in action.

I need to say one thing that I have always been wanting to say: I would like to offer a huge thanks to the sky box artists. They truly make the game come alive. I remember playing Halo 3 for the first time and repeatedly dying because I was looking up far too much. From what I can get out of this update, Halo 3: ODST seems to offer a similar experience that may even be more spectacular. I cannot wait for autumn.

I LAUGH at the person that sent the PM about heavenly hog. Now, unless his name is phenomenon, it's not his business. I know Phenomenon(the inventor of heavenly hog) and he said that he was GLAD that they gave away the secret because he was tired of people asking.

How is aiming down the sight a dramatic gameplay difference... Small scopes are also usuable in all the Halo's, a Reflex Sight is very much comparable.

I think it really sucks that we can't fight Elites. As said before in this thread (many times) the rushed explanation why there's no Elites is probably just an excuse for not having the time to create new AI to the Elites. I can't say I'm too excited that we won't be able to aim down the reflex sight either, the game more and more resembles the crap that is Halo 3, the gameplay was just to boring in Halo 3, if they would just add some new features. Oh well, I'll probably buy it anyway in hopes that it might be as good as Halo: CE. [Edited on 01.24.2009 4:43 AM PST]

Maybe all the Elites in the city died because of the slipstream jump/explosion. Regret had to get away fast and didn't really care if some Elites died, as long as he would survive. I'm also dissapointed the Elites aren't in the game, but it would make sense according to the story bible. And only a few people are making this game. They don't have the time and budget to make new AI for the Elites. They already have it for the Brutes.
