When TTK drops, we won't be able to ascend ANY of the year 1 weapons. So you know all the sweet VoG and Crota weapons you ascended to 365? They're all going to be OBSOLETE in a few months because it's Bungie's "philosophy" that using the same guns for 10 years would be boring.
F-CK YOUR PHILOSOPHY, BUNGIE. Your heads are 8 miles up your asses if you think forcing us to shelve weapons is a good idea. The pathetic truth is, not allowing us to ascend year 1 gear is a shitty cop out cover up for not INCREASING VAULT SPACE.
We're too f-cking lazy to give them more space, so let's just make all their weapons useless and force their hands to delete all their old gear. It's a perfect plan! Nobody will ever notice that our philosophy is 100% grade A bullshit! :)
Seriously, go f-ck yourselves, Bungie.
Edit 1: Oh, and btw, we all know that any of these "new" weapons we get will just be reskins of old weapons anyways. YOU AREN'T FOOLING ANYONE, BUNGIE!

I'd keep my fatebringer for the 10 year plan

4 RepliesTo anyone claiming that scrapping old gear is the way MMOs work, I think are forgetting about crafting. Without crafting, Destiny has no way of promoting the idea of gear progression using a replacement model. At the very least, unique gear like exotics should have a way of being up to date.
-
2 RepliesWe should be able to use and ascend any gear we want. Why would they introduce this feature in HoW just to remove it in TTK? Seriously. Why would they remove such a new feature? The amount of loot in this game is painfully small. This would be removing an entire years worth of gear because there's no way players are going to use underpowered weapons in the harder content. I don't know. Surely this won't come to fruition.

3 RepliesWhen looking at the TTK weapons, instead of showing damage level 331, 365 they seem to have replaced that with light level 34 That would suggest that when TTK is released weapons damage is going to be based on your light level. http://youtu.be/T0MgiFGquCI

2 RepliesI don't understand why it's so hard to make better weapons than the favored exotics and raid weapons. It's like they ran out of ideas. Nothing since TDB has been worth ditching a year one weapon, particularly not if you want a good elemental.
-
3 RepliesI'm more confused about why they allowed us to ascend them to begin with if they were just going to make them obsolete in a few months? That is the real dick move people should be discussing.
-
So has there been more info on this other than deej's interview? If not, youre getting worked up for no reason because theyve never stated we cant keep ascending weapons after this dlc.
-
If I can't take my Vision of Confluence I'll probably stop.

I think too many people will quit if they make old gear obsolete. The idea of permanence is too strongly engrained in the minds of the players, myself included. We don't want to lose our trusty old guns.
-
3 RepliesNot getting to bring my favorite gear will be strike 3 for Bungie.
-
I will definitely quit if my guns become obsolete. Not a dime more from me

He finally has learnt he dilemma that we faced when the DB dropped. Also the new weapons use custom models.

-
I like to hear that directly from Bungie cause no news on if we are or not able to continue using the gear and weapons we upgraded in House of Wolves.

SEE YA!

1 ReplyI won't even play destiny between my zombie matches if they make my vog weapons obsolete. Etheric light for every expansion, or else.....
-
I'll use what I have until they give me something better. So far they haven't.
-
5 RepliesSo you expect to use the fate bringer forever? I love the gun, hell I love all the current guns but you know what? This is a fking role playing game! Weapons have to become obsolete at some point!
-
2 RepliesYou don't even know this for sure do calm down
-
9 RepliesThe end of Gjallarhorn. Thank god.

2 RepliesAre weapons really obsolete in crucible? Maybe in ToO and IB... But crucible?
-
1 ReplyI bet you solar, arc and void will no longer exist in D2. they'll be replaced by other burns (or eliminating them completely) to ween players from further forging relationships with year-one weaponry. also vault space isn't the issue. it's about grind time. players will sacrifice items according to need but ascending old weapons doesn't seem to coincide with their agenda. time will tell.

17 RepliesJust curious, but are there any MMO-esque games that let you bring your gear even as far as we did?
