How does a non-34 character best prepare for Trials?

I bought the DLC recently, and while I'm not very good, I'm not THAT bad either...I've been craving a of the Helm of Exile for the Titan for the LONGEST time. I want it so bad, but I'm also too afraid to go into Trials because of what people have said about it. I've made some friends who are pretty solid, but I myself have never played a game of ToO. I don't want to weigh them down or be a hindrance. What would you recommend for a Trials amateur like myself? I know communication's gonna be a huge thing, but what else?!

  • Don't. Not only will everyone else be level 34, they'll all have maxed weapons and know what they're doing. Even one level below is going to put the odds heavily against you, and there's no point. It's not to hard to get to max level. Trials is designed for players as an end game activity. Come prepared.
