I recently thought about going back to try and get the Negral Servant set (or at least the helm) for my warlock since it looks beast. Does anyone remember how to do this? I believe you are supposed to grind tiger strikes for vanilla and doc strikes for DB gear. Can anyone confirm this before I go on a grind spree?
Edit: Apparently this information is true. If you wish to grind, here are the steps for each kind:
Vanilla (note: only works for armors): Grind out enough tiger strikes until you have tons of blue engrams for the desired armor piece from the reward screen. Turn them in for a slight chance at getting a vanilla legendary.
DB: Grind roc strikes until you have tons of blue or legendary engrams of the desired armor/weapon from the reward screen. Turn them in for a chance at DB legendaries.
Engrams picked up off of the ground can only produce HoW gear. Yes, this is a battle against RNG, but the question is:
How bad do you want it?
Edit #2: A new farming method has come to light which only applies towards acquiring TDB armor and weapons. If you are running and Eris quest, delete the bounty for it midway through the mission. Complete the mission and you still get rewarded. Go back to Eris, get the bounty again, and repeat.
Edit #2.5: There are reports of the Eris method not working. If anyone could confirm it is working/won't work, I would greatly appreciate it.
Edit #3: Here is a better way of differentiating engrams, to help people understand whether it will yield HoW or Vanilla gear. Here will be the description of the engram.
Vanilla: "The Cryptarch in the Tower may be be able to decrypt this object and reveal its contents."
HoW: "A matter engram of remarkable potency. The Cryptarch can decrypt this into a piece of armor/weapon."

You can tell if it's a vanilla engram from the description. A vanilla engram will read something like "The Cryptarch at the the Tower may be able to decrypt this" whereas a new engram will read "An engram of remarkable potency, the Cryptarch will be able to decrypt this into [specific weapon/armour class]". I should add there is one way to get TDB (but not Pre-TDB) weapons and that's from Eris mission postgame. If anyone knows how to be able to dupe these while still getting engrams (I know you can dupe them by deleting the bounties mid-mission but apparently you can only get the engrams once) that would be amazing.
