Question for People Who have Gone Flawless
When you are playing normal crucible, why do you still insist on using the same Thorn/ Last Word + Shotgun load out?
Apparently you guys are the "best of the best" so to speak, so why do you still rely on your overpowered weapons while facing off against scrubs in normal Crucible.
If you truly were good enough to go flawless in the most challenging PvP Playlist in the game, how come you can't succeed with weapons other than Thorn/TLW/ Shotgun?
Maybe it's cuz you are only good because of those weapons......
Edit: Yeah. Lot of replies. Can't get to them all.
Edit: Haha! Just made some flawless nerd quit a Skirmish match by using an uncommon pulse rifle and an uncommon sniper from the Gunsmith.

I usually don't use thorn outside of trials, if I even use it there. I've started to take a liking to tlw though, cans I have used it a bit outside of trials.

2 RepliesI see the pro pvp guys on Youtube - they don't use the thorn! they say it makes it way too easy! Guy uses a vendor hand cannon, a ldr sniper and he iron banner rocket launcher. And the reason why? Because if they nerf exotic hand cannons (did you catch the latest Luke interview where he says the Last Word is OP???) then they are still good! The Thorn guys will be moving to tier 2 WHERE THEY BELONG! And yes I have a Thorn AND I have not used it myself in months cause I am not using a crutch! Also saw a Triple Wreck match where they agreed to not use exotic weapons or pick up heavy SO that it is competitive! Should of turn off blink jump too probably too =)

I prefer to use the messenger for long range halls or red death for closer quarter maps. If the connection is good, then the last word is my choice, but if it lags a bit, i go with a pulse. Some of still like to win and receive grimoire points for our efforts, so don't hate, just keep practicing and join the ranks of elite :)

I don't rely on my overpowered weapons, it's just the most fun setup to use. Still -blam!-ing whining about OP guns I see.

3 Repliesmy flawless group and I practice by running skirmish/elimination/control maps with whatever guns the Gunsmith is selling for the day. Try it. It actually makes crucible fun.

according to my crucible stats my most used gun is my scout rifle(voc, rapier, mida, nlshadow) you gotta fire with fire when it comes to trials cold hard facts

I use all sorts of guns in all sorts of ways. .depending on the situation/map. Many other people also do. That being said...why wouldnt someone use their favorite/best gear for competitive modes. Why dont you use all blue gear/guns?

No, I don't really use thorn that much, nor last word. I do however, use hawkmoon and the ldr a lot, and if I'm bored I'll use lord of wolves in place of the ldr.

Stat padding and keeping up with the meta for what guns are the best. If you're going to play sweaties consistently then you have to consistently practice with the best weapons.

Speak for yourself. I use different weapons for different characters. My NL shadow is killin it and I love that bad juju. But when times get rough I go to my load out since September. No thorn.

I dont stick to those guns in trials. I like to run messenger ( or maybe now red death just xurned it) and a sniper like pr, vanguard one, and occasionally a matador when my sniper game is off

Because I like the last word. I've had it since October and I absolutely love it.

I use my 55a or some other not over used gun. But in trials I fight fire with fire. Lol

2 RepliesI use what my enemy uses in Trials. Equal footing means it comes down to skill. Otherwise, I'm always running scout/snipe/mg.

I use what i want. If that means OP weps for me to play better so be it. I dont put myself at a disadvantage against every1 else using it. Nobody likes losing.
