I recently thought about going back to try and get the Negral Servant set (or at least the helm) for my warlock since it looks beast. Does anyone remember how to do this? I believe you are supposed to grind tiger strikes for vanilla and doc strikes for DB gear. Can anyone confirm this before I go on a grind spree?
Edit: Apparently this information is true. If you wish to grind, here are the steps for each kind:
Vanilla (note: only works for armors): Grind out enough tiger strikes until you have tons of blue engrams for the desired armor piece from the reward screen. Turn them in for a slight chance at getting a vanilla legendary.
DB: Grind roc strikes until you have tons of blue or legendary engrams of the desired armor/weapon from the reward screen. Turn them in for a chance at DB legendaries.
Engrams picked up off of the ground can only produce HoW gear. Yes, this is a battle against RNG, but the question is:
How bad do you want it?
Edit #2: A new farming method has come to light which only applies towards acquiring TDB armor and weapons. If you are running and Eris quest, delete the bounty for it midway through the mission. Complete the mission and you still get rewarded. Go back to Eris, get the bounty again, and repeat.
Edit #2.5: There are reports of the Eris method not working. If anyone could confirm it is working/won't work, I would greatly appreciate it.
Edit #3: Here is a better way of differentiating engrams, to help people understand whether it will yield HoW or Vanilla gear. Here will be the description of the engram.
Vanilla: "The Cryptarch in the Tower may be be able to decrypt this object and reveal its contents."
HoW: "A matter engram of remarkable potency. The Cryptarch can decrypt this into a piece of armor/weapon."

Maybe i got a db gun 2 days ago

2 RepliesUnfortunately you would have to grind endlessly for engrams that might not give you legendaries, upgrade said armor, then ascend it. It's a long drawn out process. I don't understand why they removed the gear in the first place.

3 RepliesKey word grind. IT AINT WORTH IT

What's the message on the engram if it's a dark below one? Or is it the same as vanilla? I've been doing roc strikes and every engram has the HoW description, including the post game ones.

UGH I RAN LVL 18 STRIKE, PICKED UP A LEGENDARY GAUNTLET ENGRAM OFF THE FLOOR, AND CHECKED THE DESCRIPTION. MATCHED VANILLA BUT DECODED TO HOW GEAR DAMN IT the grind is real

2 RepliesWhat if you delete the dark below expansion and re-installed it, would that reset all the eris missions because I don't feel like making a new character. Ha

2 RepliesEdited by Rozihel: 6/29/2015 7:21:18 AMI saw you post below about how the Taken Kings faction armor looks. So i thought I'd put in some work and get all the images for you guys to see. All these armor sets for the factions apply to only the vanguard sets of that time of being auch as Vanilla, TDB, or HoW Destiny. On the side note, I can't wait for the Future War Cult gear for Warlocks. (Nerigal Savant) Future War Cult gear is Vanilla gear - http://imgur.com/Dk1eUdJ Dead Orbit gear is The Dark Below gear - http://imgur.com/oEdQkem New Monarchy gear is House of Wolves gear - http://imgur.com/A0lHtTs
