Destiny is not an MMO. There's nothing massive about 9 people in the Reef, 3-4 people in the world on a patrol. Every competitive activity being a 3 person premade fireteam. An entire planet can be traversed in about 3 minutes on a sparrow.
And Elder Scrolls Online is working just fine.
Try again.
Destiny is just an FPS with a slightly shared world, and one that you cannot even explore. It's blocked off by invisible walls and has preset paths that everyone spawns into and travels through every time they spawn in. Each planet is more of a "level" than it is an open world. A level that you're instanced into like a mission in Borderlands.

They still have to maintain servers 24/7. People just will never understand the cost to do this. They aren't running your mom's pc. They are running hundreds of high end servers that consume lots of power. You wanna keep playing by the dlc/expansion. If not then keep it moving we aren't hurting for guardians.

Any online multiplayer game is the same way. We're not arguing that they don't do things that cost money, that's just stupid.
