Bungie hasn't handled their next expansion and the extra "content" well and they continue to show that they have stepped far away from caring about the fans. I got my PS4 back in January and got Destiny bundled with it. I played the crap out of it since then. Lately, Destiny lost my interest. I just don't see the point any more. Loot is too hard to get, and in a few months, those guns I was so excited about be important again won't be worth anything as Year Two comes along.
Then there was the CE crap that happened. Yeah, it isn't fair for those of us who may want new content and some extra goodies to have to both pay $80 and rebuy content. Bungie has a plan though, get a $20 discount on content that most games might dare to make you pay a whole $10 if they were feeling saucy. Sony has thrown money at this people, 7-11 has thrown money at these people, and now they need us to throw even more money at them for what? Some crappy digital content? I don't care if you think Activision is the reason for it, I can get a great game with all it's DLC (Child of Light Ultimate Edition) for less than the price of TTK, and just slightly more than the over priced "solution."
Some will say, "Well, don't buy it then." You miss the point. This really shows the mindset here, it's all about the money and not about the fans. Bethesda did it right. Not only did they announce a new Fallout, but they announced that it has a near release date, addresses concerns from both longtime fans and people who just couldn't quite get into Fallout 3 and New Vegas. There are a number or new and improved features. Yes, there is a CE with some cool looking goodies, but there is also an app that you don't have to get the CE for and can still use. No extra cash grab, just content for the people. Destiny never really got me to a place where I "became legend," but in the Fallout series, that is the whole point. (I'm not saying this is a better game, I enjoyed Destiny. What I am saying is that Bethesda shows how a game should be marketed. I have yet to see any of their major content expansions for an already existing game cost more than $20 or so.)
Point is that I have only so many dollars to devote to gaming as I work for a living and don't get paid really what I should. Nothing about TTK has shown me Bungie gives a crap about the fact I have to work for my money. For the price of TTK and their "solution," I can get Fallout 4, or even the Nathan Drake Collection on preorder. This is not good value, this is a cash grab and a big middle finger to a host of lifelong gamers that have jobs and lives.

1 ReplyEdited by Altarisian: 6/25/2015 5:24:52 PMAll about that cash, bout that cash, not players. Yeah, it's pretty clear, we ain't no Bungie. But we keep actin like we're, good as we used to be. And we got that DLC that all the boys chase, and all the right hype in all the right places. Working that Crota gear, with that glowhoo on. We're still tryna get revenant, come on now make it stop. If you got money money, throw it at the screen, cuz we got everything you want as long as you show some green. Bungievi$ion 2014-2015

1 ReplyEdited by Rick: 6/25/2015 8:09:19 PMBungie literally gave the community exactly what they asked for. The Legendary edition is a bundle for new players. There's a collector's edition of that new player bundle that comes with 9 exclusive items for $20 more. They made the $20 items available without having to repurchase the game. They DO listen. Maybe what everyone is along for was just retarded.

I just can't believe in order to get a GOT DAM black shader I am better off PAYING 20$ and outright buying their new sh!tty microtransaction bundle than grinding 120 levels of a faction that means nothing to anyone.
-
9 RepliesI just dont get how the DLCs were $20 each, and now there is a pack of emotes and class items for $20. How does that compute?
-
If Bungie listened to the community they would've put Matchmaking in all activies, more Vault Space, and Buff Auto Rifle back the way they were. I don't think Bungie cares about Anyone outside of Bungie Headquarters.
-
2 RepliesYou don't know what you're about. Both story dlc's for Skyrim were $20.

11 Replieshttps://us.battle.net/shop/en/product/game/wow?categories=pets%2Cmounts%2Chelms That link that I just posted is a money grab. That is from one of the most played MMO's ever. $10 for a pet that follows you around or $25 for a mount that you can ride. Now your telling me that Destiny charging $20 for 9 items is a money grab? I am not trying to be a dick but I can list more than just WoW that charge crazy amounts of money. This is a great deal that Bungie is offering.

2 RepliesI don't agree to every decision Bungie or Activision make, but at least Bungie is taking an attempt to listen. They are now giving us more options, they didn't have to do that. And Activision has complete rights to marketing and unfortunately..... pricing. When it comes to distribution, marketing, advertising, pricing, and manufacturing..... you have to look at Activision. When it comes to in-game development and design..... look at Bungie. I do want to know Bungie's obsession with tiger though. Tiger was their code name for Destiny before production. They made that awesome looking rare gun called Stalker BNGL. And now we have the black leopard (black panther) emblems and shaders.

Tell your wife to piss off and not get her lame ass nails done so you can buy the game. Set 10 bucks to the side each pay check for the next 2 months so you can BUY THE GAME! 14 Replies"Bethesda did it right." I guess you weren't around the Fallout 3 message boards when Game of he Year edition came out. All the butthurt crybabying here was also going on over there "I bought the game and all 3 DLCS for full price and now someone can get it for $20? Whhhhaaaaaa"....... All gaming companies want as much of your money as they can get... Activision is just more obvious about it... Delete your characters and the game and move on then....

7 RepliesTwo words: one word: Activision. Six words: Activision has full Destiny marketing rights. Maybe attack the proper "villain" here?
-
I'm personally planning on not buying TTK at least for a while.
-
1 ReplyIm just sticking to TTK and skip the BS.
-
1 ReplyI have yet to see how TTK is worth 2/3 of everything that the base game was, and it's hilarious that they think a tiny bundle of useless cosmetics is worth 1/3 of the base game. I'm not buying any of that.

20 RepliesOK, I gotta say this just once, and probably get shot down for it but whatever... Bungie, Activision, EA Sports, and all the others, they do this not just for the love of games, they do it for profit. They do it to make money, for their investors and themselves. They do it to make money period. From what I understand, the Taken King download is almost as big, if not bigger (in size/GB) than the entire game is now, so how is it bad value at $39.95?? I think it is excellent value, you also get some bonus stuff as a year one player if you meet VIP status by their definition... If you want to have extra stuff, you can pay an additional $20 to get it. If that is too rich for you, well then hop the blam over to the next game, but for pete sake stop blamming whining! Quit, leave, show everyone where your money is, don't continue whingin over and over and over. I get it, you have spent XX amounts of dollars already, and you have to work overtime to make the extra $60 to get the game, whell stop whining, and get the next game, and don't let the door hit ya on the way out. Cheers H.

2 RepliesWaaaaaaaaah, I'm going to throw my money at the screen while you're still bitching about not being able to golf clap.
-
6 RepliesStop these -blam!-ing posts people got what they want a price reduction and now there's even more bitching? God damn you guys never quit
-
13 RepliesI love how every company does this and only bungie gets flamed for it it shows you how many crybabies play this game

*Throws money at screen* Now off to the soup kitchen for some scraps.

6 RepliesEdited by Sas: 6/25/2015 5:19:35 PM40 for TTK. Destiny has shown me that they listen to what we want, and try to get it done, obviously within reason. HoW really showed me that they're listening. TTK follows that tradition from the little of it we know so far. As for the cosmetic items, they're fully optional and totally not a big deal to have or not to have. But priced at 2.22 per item, they fall well in line with things like weapon skins and character models etc for other games. Plus we still don't know the extent of the year 1 rewards. I don't see how people are pissed about this solution... Edit: what loot is too hard to get?
-
1 ReplyPoint is you obviously like Fallout more, so you can leave and play it.
-
1 ReplyOk first off Bungie insn't your pal or your friend they are a business and the relationship you have with them is strickly business if you dont like their methods then don't buy the next installment

NIce post. Take solace in the fact you're not alone as a gamer with a conscious and principles. All I can suggest, you do like the rest of us who have cast ourselves into the Destiny wilderness, and look to other games and game developers for your entertainment and be patient. Maybe BungieVision will have a crisis of conscious moment and drastically change course. Maybe not. But whatever happens, you are among those who are through peaceful dissent, trying to make a difference. Again, nice post.
