It actually was originally planned to be a weapon that could be upgraded to an exotic. Just an FYI

I know that it was a rumor, but with the original game having actual questlines for exotics, I can see this being not far from the truth.

It was actually on a thread that a guy made to try to get people to tell him things he didn't know. It was called ascension or something. Wish I could remember the name. I will look the forums and try to find a link for you.
