What i've heard is if you aim a maced out pocket infinity at the vex gate in the jumping puzzle, there are some weird lights. I have just gotten mine so it isnt max. Its description reads something like:its almost as if its less of a weapon and more of a key. Could be a connection between that gate and a fireteam with max pocket infinities

Yeah me either. Before you upgrade it the charge time is just so slow I couldn't ever bring myself to use it haha, thanks for giving me some motivation to max it out!

I also read that the pattern on the pocket infinity scope is the same pattern that is on the floor of the dead vex gate.

No. It has not been proven to be there, or discovered with any proof. The only video is a group going to where they SAY they found it, but not being able to replicate their results
