Why the Luke Smith interview was the best thing for "The Movement".

I'm first going to preface this post by admitting that even though I understand the valid debate, I do not side with the movement. I guess you could call me a capitalist, who believes in big business and scarce regulation. In theory the market will regulate itself. I believe in depreciation, not just in materials but in experiences as well. The 10th time you ride a roller coaster does not merit the same excitement as your first (I.e. depreciation). Which is why, with the exception of loyalty perks (those are tough to put a value on for me) i whole heartedly agree with the pricing of the expansion options. HOWEVER... The interview with Luke Smith was the icing on the cake for what seemed like an irrelevant movement. Mr. Smith made the veterans the single most important group perhaps in modern big studio history, and certainly in Bungie's history. And he did it over night. The ball is now in the veterans court. A court where Bungie no longer has an even place to decide the outcome of this debate. A few of the more prevalent authors on this forum have seen my posts littered thru their threads, defending bungie, theorizing economics, even comparing VeteransUnite to the failing Occupy Wall Street movement. However, I am wrong, you gents are right. Where I think i was proved wrong was, I forgot what the regulatory force was in the case. That force is us. Literally our decision of "to buy, or not to buy" is the sole instrument companies like Bungie and Activision not only need, but depend on. Because of Luke Smith there is no more debate. My side of the coin does not exist. None of us have to wonder "are these the prices and loyalty perks just the new way of video gaming", "maybe people are right, $80 is no big deal, I'll get it anyway". Bungie just wants your money, end of story. And hey, if you throw it at the tv screen even better. Bungie is not about capitalism, they are not just another innocent bystander in what seems to be a trend of less product for more money. No, they are the leaders of finding ways to mismanage their community, get the most amount of money possible from them, and the worst of all, Bungie just called us all stupid. Thursday DeeJ is addressing the issue at hand. And to gentlemen like Lost Sols, Carnival Law, Star Gazer II, and the rest of #VeteransUnite, should you win I congratulate every single one of you. Just don't forget to thank Luke Smith.
