Who cares about grimoire? It only stands for how much time you put into the game.

Not really, more like for how long you've been playing, if your grimoire is 1450 youre pretty.. horrible

Not if you took a break. I took a 2 month break from Destiny to finish my competitive CoD run.

You just repeated what I said. How much time you've put into the game. Low grimoire=(Likely) New player (less playing time). High grimoire=Older player (more playing time).
